Welcome To

BARAH MINISTRIES

a Christian Church

Rory Clark

Pastor-Teacher

Good Morning!

Welcome to Barah Ministries…a worldwide Christian Church based in Mesa, AZ…my name is Pastor Rory Clark.

Welcome to our celebration of the most important moment in divine history…the resurrection from the dead of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!  Thanks for choosing to be here as we commemorate this joyous event.  John, Chapter 19, Verse 30 says…

JOH 19:30

Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine (on the Cross), He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His (human) spirit (into the hands of God the Father).

So ended the Lord’s salvation work at the Cross.  Then after three full days in the ground according to Matthew, Chapter 12, Verse 40…

MAT 12:40

…for just as JONAH WAS THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS IN THE BELLY OF THE SEA MONSTER, so will the Son of Man (Jesus Christ) be three (full) days and three (full) nights in the heart of the earth (the grave).

…the Lord’s resurrection from the dead!

The Lord’s death on a Cross was a shock for His apostles and His disciples, even though it should not have been, for He both predicted it and He revealed it to them the night before it happened.  It was a miserable time for the Lord’s disciples…their hearts were filled with grief as they watched the Lord being mutilated at the Cross…all the time wondering about what is next…the wondering about if He was truly the Son of God as He had said…would He really rise from the dead on the third day as He had said? For He also made another promise on the night before He went to the Cross…John, Chapter 16, Verse 7…

JOH 16:7

“But I (the Lord Jesus Christ) tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper (God the Holy Spirit) will not come to you; but if I go away, and I am, I will send (God the Holy Spirit) to you.”

John, Chapter 16, Verse 13…

JOH 16:13

“…when He, (God) the (Holy) Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears (from Me), He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.”

So three full days have passed…the Lord’s female disciples were the first on the scene at the grave…Matthew, Chapter 28, Verses 1 to 6…

MAT 28:1

Now after the Sabbath (Saturday), as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week (Sunday), Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the grave.

MAT 28:2

And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone and sat upon it.

MAT 28:3

And his appearance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.

MAT 28:4

The guards shook for fear of him and became like dead men.

MAT 28:5-6

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. He is not here, for He has risen (from the dead), just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying.

Welcome to the celebration of this resurrection!

OPENING PRAYER

Let us pray...

We’re grateful Heavenly Father for the privilege of studying the absolute

truth...the Word of God…

Thank you for making the difference clear…in religion a man is always at the head of it...not so in Christianity where God is the head…and the God we worship is the Triune Godhead…one God with three separate and distinct persons…You Father…Your Son, the Lord…Your Holy Spirit…and the unique person of the universe, the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who is 100% God and 100% man in one person forever…He is the physically manifest member of the Godhead…and today we celebrate His resurrection from the dead…

Father, help all mankind to realize this difference that makes it clear to all that Jesus is every bit the same in essence as You Father…especially in Deity…and He is worthy of note not only because He is God, but because in His true humanity, only Jesus Christ, and no one else, has been resurrected from the dead…help this difference make a difference concerning whom we worship…let us all worship the Creator who is blessed forever, rather than the creature.

We ask this through the power of God the Holy Spirit...in Christ’s name... Amen.

TODAY’S STUDY

On What Foundation Does Your Life Rest?

What is it for you?  Money?  Sex?  Drugs?  Rock and Roll?  Self?  Family?  Children?  Cars?  Electronic devices?  Things?  Matthew, Chapter 7, Verses 24 to 27 have a suggestion about your foundation…

MAT 7:24

“Therefore (Jesus says…) everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.”

MAT 7:25

“And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.”

The Lord Jesus Christ is the ROCK.

MAT 7:26

“Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.”

MAT 7:27

“The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.”

Clearly there are two choices…a foundation on “The Rock,” the Lord Jesus Christ…or a foundation on sand.  Satan, the enemy of God would prefer that you believe that all roads lead to God…clearly not true…one road leads to God…the Rock…all other roads lead to destruction.  Today we celebrate the reason the Lord Jesus Christ’s road leads to the resurrection life.  But first, few announcements…

OFFERING VERSE

ROM 6:9-10

…knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.

You Will Be Our God

TODAY’S STUDY

On What Foundation Does Your Life Rest?

The foundation of my life is the Lord Jesus Christ.  He is my ROCK, He is my salvation…He is my friend, and I am His…He is my “Go-to Person.”  And a relationship with Christ makes me different.  Without Him, I am nothing.  John, Chapter 15, Verse 5 says…

JOH 15:5

I (the Lord Jesus Christ) am the vine, you (believers in Christ) are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.

We celebrate the Lord’s resurrection from the dead today.  And resurrection  says three simple things to me.

RESURRECTION

It proves that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Messiah

It sets the pattern for my life, both in salvation and sanctification

The Cross to the Empty Grave

It provides the power for a VERY bright future

On what foundation does your life rest?

Resurrection proves that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Messiah.  He fulfilled every Scriptural promise that would help anyone recognize the Messiah, including the most important one.  He rose from the dead.  His resurrection from the dead is the biggest demonstration of power in divine history… Romans, Chapter 6, Verse 9…

ROM 6:9

…knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him.

If you rise from the dead, death is no longer a master over you!  All believers in Christ are in union with Christ, and we will be raised from the dead one day in the future.  Death is no longer master over us either, because of our union the risen Christ, a gift given to every believer at the moment of salvation.  Romans, Chapter 6, Verse 5…

ROM 6:5

For if we believers in Christ have become united with Him in the likeness of

His death, and we have, certainly we shall also be united with Him in the likeness of His resurrection…

Resurrection proves that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Messiah.  Take a five- minute break.

When I Think About Home

TODAY’S STUDY

On What Foundation Does Your Life Rest?

Welcome back!  Our foundation as Christians is the Rock…the Lord Jesus Christ.  He is the Messiah…and more than anything else He did, His resurrection from the dead proves He is Lord.

Resurrection sets the pattern for our lives.  Resurrection in the bible is the Greek word ANASTASIS…

RESURRECTION

To raise to life again

To rise from the dead

For those of you Christians who are familiar with the next major event in divine history, which is called The Rapture…the time when all believers in Christ will be plucked off the earth and placed in their very own resurrection body…the Greek word for this event is EX- ANASTASIS.  To rise again from somewhere.  First Thessalonians, Chapter 4, Verse 13 to 18…

1TH 4:13

But we (Paul referring to himself) do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep (physically dead), so that you will not grieve as do the rest (unbelievers) who have no hope (grieve).

1TH 4:14

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and we do, even so God the Father will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep (physically died) in (union with) Jesus.

1TH 4:15

For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are (physically) alive and remain on the earth until the coming of the Lord, will not precede (in resurrection from the dead) those who have fallen asleep (those who have died physically who are in union with Christ).

1TH 4:16

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in union with  Christ will rise (will be resurrected) first.

1TH 4:17

Then we who are alive and remain on earth will be caught up together with them (those who were physically dead) in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be (face-to-face) with the Lord.

1TH 4:18

Therefore comfort one another with these words.

As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we have the ZOE life…the resurrection life from the moment of salvation…it’s called the eternal life…a life with no beginning and no ending because it is a share the life of Christ who has no beginning and no ending…and we will be resurrected from the dead and placed in a resurrection body at The Rapture.

In the Zoe Life, our life of sanctification, there is always resurrection…the Cross to the empty grave.  How does that look?  Things seem grim…then we are delivered.  This extreme lets us know that God did the work, because it was impossible for us to do it.  In letting this impossible situation take place, the Lord gets across to us slow learners that His work for us is a lot better than our work for ourselves, or our working at things alone.

Resurrection sets the pattern for our lives…the Cross to the empty grave.

Resurrection provides the power for our lives…there are so many things revealed about it…First Peter, Chapter 1, Verses 3 to 5…

1PE 1:3

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead…

1PE 1:4

…to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you…

1PE 1:5

…who are protected by the power of God the Father through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Ephesians, Chapter 1, Verses 18 to 21…

EPH 1:18

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints…

EPH 1:19

…and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might…

EPH 1:20

…which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places…

EPH 1:21

…far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.

Philippians, Chapter 3, Verses 1 to 11…

PHI 3:1

Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things again is no trouble to me, and it is a safeguard for you.

PHI 3:2

Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workers, beware of the false circumcision…

PHI 3:3

…for we are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in union with Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh…

PHI 3:4

…although I myself might have confidence even in the flesh. If anyone else has a mind to put confidence in the flesh, I far more…

PHI 3:5

…circumcised the eighth day, of the nation of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the Law, a Pharisee…

PHI 3:6

…as to zeal, a persecutor of the church; as to the righteousness which is in the Law, found blameless.

PHI 3:7

But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ.

PHI 3:8

More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish (human excrement) so that I may gain Christ…

PHI 3:9

…and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that righteousness which is obtained through faith alone in Christ alone, the righteousness which comes from God the Father on the basis of faith…

PHI 3:10

…that I may know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death…

PHI 3:11

…in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

On what foundation does your life rest?

There’s just too much to say about resurrection.  Suffice it to say that when you life rests on the foundation of the Rock, the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Rock gives you something to really look forward to…of course there is the alternative…if you reject a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ during your time on earth, you’ll spend eternity in the Lake of Fire.  Be mindful of this…Second Peter, Chapter 3, Verse 9…

2PE 3:9

The Lord is not slow about His promise of salvation, as some count slowness (as some accuse Him of), but the Lord is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish in the Lake of Fire, but for all to come to repentance (a change of mind about believing in Christ).

So if any creature ends up in the Lake of Fire…it is for one reason only…not because God wants them there…He doesn’t…but that they want nothing to do with God.  And each person is free to decide that for himself.  Honoring your request, you are abandoned by God the Father at your physical death.  And all the wrath of God is poured out on you for all eternity because you rejected the perfect payment for your sins made by the Lord on your behalf, and instead decided to take the punishment yourself.  Luke, Chapter 13, Verse 28 describes the Lake of Fire…

LUK 13:28

In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves being cast out into the outer darkness.

You deserve a better fate.  Choose the resurrection life!

The Promises of the Lord Jesus Christ

are Guarantees!

ACT 16:31

“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and everyone in your household who also believes.”

JOH 14:6

Jesus said to doubting Thomas, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through believing in Me.

JOH 3:36

He who believes in the Son has eternal life (the ZOE life); but he who does not obey the (command to believe in the) Son will not see (the Zoe) life, but instead the wrath of God the Father abides on him.”
