Hi there!

My name is Rory Clark and I am the Pastor of Barah Ministries…a worldwide Christian Church based in Mesa, AZ

I have a question for you…

Why Don’t You Give God Another Chance?

That’s the focus of these ten-minute lessons.  You can give God another chance.

Today, there are seven things I’d like you to CONSIDER…to think carefully about…in the matter of God…the first is…

Point One

There is a God, and He is the Creator of the universe, the Creator of the heavens, the Creator of the earth and the Creator of all creatures.

Genesis, Chapter 1, Verse 1 says…

Genesis 1:1

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Who is this God that created the heavens and the earth?

In John Chapter 1, Verse 1, it says…

John 1:1

In the beginning was the Word (the Lord…God the Son), and the Word (the Lord…God the Son) was with God (the Father), and the Word (the Lord…God the Son) was God…

In Verse 3…

John 1:3

All things came into being through Him (the Lord), and apart from the Lord nothing came into being that has come into being.

Consider the logic...the universe has a design, and design demands a designer... the Lord Jesus Christ is the designer.

The atheist says there is no God...the bible calls the atheist a fool...Psalm 14, Verse 1 says…

Psalm 14:1

The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.”

For the atheist to prove His case that there is no God, the atheist would have to be omnipresent…he would have to be capable of being everywhere at the same time.

The agnostic says, “I don’t think that the truth about God is knowable.”  The agnostic’s game is the uncertainty game...“Well...I don’t know...”  In First Timothy, Chapter 6, Verse 4, the bible declares the agnostic is...

First Timothy 6:4

...conceited and understand nothing; but he has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words...

God is a person.  Because God is a person He is someone you can get to know.  He is not mysterious.  He is not distant.  He is an “up close and personal” God.  Who is God to you?

The second of the seven things I’d like you to CONSIDER…

Point Two

God reveals Himself in ways that make sense to human beings, providing His exact thoughts and instructions through the bible.

Here is what the bible says about itself in First Corinthians, Chapter 2, Verse 16…

First Corinthians 2:16

For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD (so well), THAT HE WILL (be qualified to) INSTRUCT HIM? But we have the mind of Christ (the bible).

Here is what the bible says about itself in Second Timothy, Chapter 3, Verse 16…

Second Timothy 3:16

All Scripture is inspired by God (God breathed) and (is) profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness...

The bible is as relevant today as it has always been…it does not change…it has not changed…it will not change…and it is not out of date!

The third of the seven things I’d like you to CONSIDER…

Point Three

God is organized…and He created a perfect plan for imperfect creatures…a plan for all mankind

The bible makes it clear that God is still very much on duty in Acts, Chapter 2, Verse 23…

Acts2:23

…this Man (the God-Man, the Lord Jesus Christ was) delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God (the Father)…

Everything that is happening around you, all the newspaper headlines, is happening by means of God’s Sovereign and permissive will, and nothing happens without His permission.  That does not mean that God is the sponsor of all things…He is not the sponsor of murder and torture and all the negative things He gets accused of…His enemy does most of that…yet allowing these things to occur is part of His plan for mankind…and since God is both loving and fair…the fact that everything is occurring in this life within the context of His love and His fairness to all creatures should provide you with great comfort…whatever happens to you, God has the power to deliver you and He wants to do it.

The fourth of the seven things I’d like you to CONSIDER…

Point Four

God created you…He has a personal plan for your life…and He provides everything you will need to live it.

God is a very personal God, as it says in Matthew, Chapter 10, Verse 30…

Matthew10:30

But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

You are not a number to God…you are not a statistic to God…you are not a concept to God…you are not a thing to God…there has never been a time in all of divine history when God did not have you personally in mind by name…and there never will be a time when He doesn’t have you personally in mind by name.

The fifth of the seven things I’d like you to CONSIDER…

Point Five

The God who created you gives you the choice to believe in Him or to reject Him...you have free will.

God is accused by Satan of being both unloving and unfair.  The most loving and fair thing God did for His creatures is to give them free will…the ability to choose…and each of us have the power to choose for or against a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ…for or against learning the truth of the Word of God.  John, Chapter 3, Verse 36 says…

JOH 3:36

“He who believes in the Son (the Lord Jesus Christ) has eternal life; but he who does not obey the (command to believe in the) Son will not see (eternal) life (in heaven), but the wrath of God (the Lake of Fire) abides on him.”

The sixth of the seven things I’d like you to CONSIDER…

Point Six

God has an enemy who wants to stop you from getting to know Him.

God’s enemy has many functional titles...he’s the RULER OF THIS WORLD in John, Chapter 16, Verse 11…

John 16:11

...and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.

He’s called the PRINCE OF THE POWER OF THE AIR in Ephesians, Chapter 2, Verses 1 and 2…

Ephesians 2:1-2

And you were (spiritually) dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air...

He is called the DEVIL in Matthew, Chapter 4, Verse 1…

Matthew 4:1

Then Jesus was led up by (God) the (Holy) Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

He is called the ACCUSER OF THE BRETHREN in Revelation, Chapter 12, Verse 10…

Revelation 12:10

…for the accuser of our brethren (believers in Christ) has been thrown down (from access to heaven), he who accuses them before our God, the Father, day and night.

He is called THE FATHER OF LIES in John Chapter 8, Verse 44.

John 8:44

Whenever he (Satan) speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

He is called SATAN in Job, Chapter 1, Verse 6, and in many other verses...

JOB 1:6

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.

Yes God has an enemy, yet in a survey of 16 to 29 year olds who are members Christian Churches in the United States, 52% of them do not believe that Satan exists.  Do you think Satan exists?  Do you think God has a real enemy?

The last of the seven things I’d like you to CONSIDER…

Point Seven

Because God created you, and gave you the gift of human life, you owe God a hearing.

You are part of God’s life.  Is God a part of your life?  First Timothy, Chapter 2, Verses 3 and 4 say…

First Timothy 2:3-4

This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and who desires for all men to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Second Peter, Chapter 3, Verse 9 says…

Second Peter 3:9

The Lord is not slow about concerning His promise of salvation, as some count slowness (as some accuse the Lord of), but is patient toward you (all mankind), not wishing for any to perish (in the Lake of Fire) but for all to come to repentance (a change of mind about believing in the Lord Jesus Christ).

Are you willing to learn about God and His Word?  John, Chapter 20, Verse 30 says…

John 20:30

Therefore many other signs (the Lord) Jesus (Christ) also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book (the bible); but these (that are here) have been written so that you may believe that (the Lord) Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that (by in Him) believing you may have (eternal) life in His name.

How well do you know God, His enemy, His plan for mankind, His personal plan for you, and how He reveals Himself?  Have you made the most important choice in life?

Acts 16:31

“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and everyone in your household who also believes.”
