TODAY’S BIBLE LESSON It is God’s Will to Save Israel and The Jewish Race
Woe to the believer in Christ whose thinking is not renewed by the Word of God. The unrenewed mind is defenseless against the insidious suggestions…against the mental poison of God’s enemy. Hebrews, Chapter 4, Verse 12 says…
HEBREWS 4:12 The Word of God is alive and powerful…and it is sharper than any two-edged sword…and it is piercing…even to the division of soul and spirit…to the division of both joints and marrow…and the Word of God is a critic of the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
The Word of God gets into our innermost being and renovates our thinking so we know the difference between the things of the world and the things of God. Second Timothy, Chapter 3, Verses 16 and 17 say…
SECOND TIMOTHY 3:16 All Scripture is God breathed…and all Scripture is profitable…for teaching truth…for reproof of sin…for correction of error…for training in righteousness…
SECOND TIMOTHY 3:17 …so that a righteous person may become spiritually mature, and may be totally equipped for every divinely inspired good work.
The bible contains God’s thoughts…it is not filled with man’s thoughts… and God’s thoughts guide us down the narrow road that leads to fulfillment of the resurrection life. Second Peter, Chapter 1, Verses 20 and 21…
SECOND PETER 1:20 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own private interpretation…
SECOND PETER 1:21 …for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will…but men carried along by God the Holy Spirit spoke directly from the exact thinking of THE God, the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Word of God is not out of date. The bible is not subject to interpretation when we see it as God sees it. That’s our teaching approach here at Barah Ministries…to preach the Word of God from God’s viewpoint, so we know without question what God is telling us.
Second Timothy, Chapter 2, Verse 15 exhorts believers in Christ to…
SECOND TIMOTHY 2:15 Study to show yourselves approved to God as workmen who do not need to be ashamed…handling accurately the Word of Truth.
The truth of the Word of God is not designed to tickle our ears, telling us what we want to hear…but instead the Word of God tells us what we need to hear. Father, like Unbelieving Israel and the Unbelieving Jewish race, there are many we love who are not saved…put us in a position to get to them with a message that is divinely powerful… a message that rings in their volition so loudly that it can’t be ignored… THE message concerning the free gift of salvation that is available through Your Son…the Great I AM…our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ…
We ask this through the power of God the Holy Spirit…in Christ’s name... Amen.

Now we move to the study of the fourth passage in Romans, Chapter 11…Verses 25 to 32…let’s hear this summary of the passage that has gone before…
PASSAGE 4
ROMANS 11:25 For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery—so that you will not be wise in your own estimation—that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in…
ROMANS 11:26 …and so…all Israel will be saved…just as it is written, “The Deliverer will come from Zion…He will remove ungodliness from Jacob.”
ROMANS 11:27 “This is My covenant with them, when I take away their sins.”
ROMANS 11:28 From the standpoint of the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but from the standpoint of God’s choice they are beloved for the sake of the fathers…
ROMANS 11:29 …for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
ROMANS 11:30 For just as you once were disobedient to God, but now have been shown mercy because of their disobedience…
ROMANS 11:31 …so these also now have been disobedient, that because of the mercy shown to you they also may now be shown mercy.
ROMANS 11:32 For God has shut up all in disobedience so that He may show mercy to all.
Now the details...in Romans, Chapters 9 and 10 and 11, we are studying the past, the present and the future of Israel and the Jewish Race. Romans, Chapter 11, Verse 25 puts the present state of Unbelieving Israel and the Unbelieving Jewish Race in a nutshell…
ROMANS 11:25 For I (Paul) do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery—so that you will not be wise in your own estimation (perhaps becoming conceited because you Gentiles are the focus of this age)—that a partial hardening has happened to Unbelieving Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in…
We see three things in this verse…the mystery…the fullness…the Gentiles. Let’s hear the verse again…
ROMANS 11:25.. For I (Paul) do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery—so that you will not be wise in your own estimation (perhaps becoming conceited because you Gentiles are the focus of this age)—that a partial hardening has happened to Unbelieving Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in…
Notice this hardening is PARTIAL…literally in the Greek A HARDENING IN PART…not a permanent hardening…God wills to save Israel.
What is the reference to a “mystery” in this verse? Most time when we think of the word mystery, we think a mystery is something that is unknowable. You’ve heard it said…“God works in mysterious ways!” The implication is that “you never know” with God. That’s a lie…you ALWAYS know with God. He is not mysterious at all. He’s clear and predictable. Mystery in this case is…
MYSTERY (Greek word “musterion”) A truth that is previously unrevealed We’ve seen other occurrences of the word “mystery” in other New Testament passages, like Ephesians, Chapter 3, Verses 8 to 10…
EPHESIANS 3:8 To me (Paul), the very least of all saints, this grace was given to me by God, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of the Christ (the Jewish Messiah)…
EPHESIANS 3:9 …and to bring to light what is the dispensation of the mystery (The Church Age…The Age of Grace) which for ages has been hidden (that is, previously unrevealed) in the (care of THE) God who created all things, the Lord Jesus Christ…
EPHESIANS 3:10 …brought to light now so that the manifold wisdom of God the Father might now be made known through The Church to the rulers and the authorities in the [theatron (1CO 4:9)…in the] heavenly places.
The Church Age is a “mystery” that was never revealed to the Old Testament saints. The Church Age is a “drop in” to human history, just like human history was a “drop in” to angelic history. Perhaps if the angels had not chosen to sin, human history wouldn’t have existed!
For the benefit of heavenly rulers and authorities, both evil and good, God is using the Church Age to clear up His policy of grace toward those who make mistakes. Satanic thought asks, “How can a loving God cast one of His creatures into the Lake of Fire?” Grace answers. A loving God can cast one of His creatures into the Lake of Fire with good conscience when such creatures keep on rejecting the grace solution to their problem of unrighteousness.
We’ve seen other occurrences of the word “mystery” in other New Testament passages, like Colossians, Chapter 1, Verses 25 to 27…
COLOSSIANS 1:25 Of this church age I (Paul) was made a minister according to the stewardship from God bestowed on me for your benefit, so that I might fully carry out the preaching of the Word of God… COLOSSIANS 1:26 …that is, preaching concerning the mystery (of The Church Age) which has been hidden from the past ages and generations, but has now been manifested to God the Father’s saints (all believers in Christ)…
COLOSSIANS 1:27 …to whom God the Father willed to make known what are the glorious riches of this mystery among the Gentiles…the mystery that Christ is indwelling you believers in Christ to provide hope (the absolute confidence) of (your future) glory (being certain).
We’ve seen other occurrences of the word “mystery” in other New Testament passages, like Matthew, Chapter 13, Verses 10 to 16…
MATTHEW 13:10 And the disciples came and said to Jesus, “Why do You speak to them (unbelievers) in parables?”
MATTHEW 13:11 Jesus answered them, “To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted (to know these mysteries).”
The natural mind cannot understand spiritual things…
MATTHEW 13:12 “For whoever has, to him more shall be given, and he will have an abundance…but whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him.”
The scarcity mentality always accomplishes its goal…to think small and to achieve small…and Satan always blinds the mind of the unbelieving so they won’t see the magnificence of the gospel message. If not for the Holy Spirit’s convicting ministry, unbelievers would be doomed.
MATTHEW 13:13 “Therefore I (the Lord Jesus Christ) speak to them (unbelievers) in parables…because while seeing they do not see, and while hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.” Again…the natural mind cannot and does not comprehend spiritual things.
MATTHEW 13:14 “In their case the prophecy of Isaiah is being fulfilled, which says, ‘You will keep on hearing, but will not understand...you will keep on seeing, but will not perceive…”
MATTHEW 13:15 “For the heart of this people has become dull (the hardening)…with their ears they scarcely hear, and they have closed their eyes…otherwise they would see with their eyes, hear with their ears, and understand with their heart and return (to Me…repent), and I would heal them.’”
MATTHEW 13:16 “But blessed are your eyes (the eyes of your soul), because they see…and blessed are your ears, because they hear.”
This is the hardening that God allows to those who reject the Jewish Messiah. Romans, Chapter 11, Verse 25…
ROMANS 11:25 For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery—so that you will not be wise in your own estimation (conceited)—that a partial hardening has happened to Unbelieving Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in…
Fullness…it is the Greek word pleroma…an easy translation of which is fulfillment…referring to the time when the fulfillment of the Lord’s plan for the Gentiles is complete. Another the way to look at pleroma is to understand what God is always doing…He is always providing a set of resources which completely fills a thing above and beyond what is needed for adequacy. God is abundance! For example…God provides the filling of the Holy Spirit who is indwelling Church Age believers.
Until the “fullness” of the Gentiles has come in…the time when the last Church Age Gentile believer believes in Christ…a time that is a mystery to us…but a time that is totally clear to God…to be revealed in the future… there is a hardening of Unbelieving Israel and the Unbelieving Jewish Race.
There is a “fullness” for the Gentiles and a “fullness” for the Jews. Remember Romans, Chapter 11, Verse 12?
ROMANS 11:12 Now if the transgression of Unbelieving Israel and The Unbelieving Jewish Race is riches for the world…and it is…and if their failure is riches for the Gentiles…and it is…how much more will their fulfillment (pleroma) be (when they turn back to Christ?)!
Before the Jewish fulfillment…Acts, Chapter 15, Verse 14 tells us…
ACTS 15:14 Simeon has related how God first concerned Himself about taking from among the Gentiles a people for His name.

Let’s continue our detailed study of the fourth passage of Romans, Chapter 11 at Verse 26…
ROMANS 11:26 …and so all Israel will be saved…just as it is written, “The Deliverer will come from Zion…He will remove ungodliness from Jacob.”
“Will be saved” is also translated “will be delivered,” and that is the meaning of saved in this passage…read it this way…
ROMANS 11:26 …and so all Israel will be delivered from the Tribulation…just as it is written, “The Deliverer will come from Zion…He will remove ungodliness from Jacob (Israel).”
At the second coming of Christ, He will destroy all the unbelievers on the earth and will take over rulership of this world. When the Lord takes back rulership of this world from Satan…when the Lord “dethrones” Satan…it will begin the Lord’s Millennial Reign on earth. As Church Age believers, we will reign with Him. Satan will be locked up for the thousand years. If you wonder what June was singing about in the opening song, I AM, here it is …Revelation, Chapter 19, Verses 11 to 21…
REVELATION 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war.
REVELATION 19:12 His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems…and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself.
REVELATION 19:13 He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
REVELATION 19:14 And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses.
REVELATION 19:15 From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron…and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty.
REVELATION 19:16 And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”
REVELATION 19:17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to all the birds which fly in midheaven, “Come, assemble for the great supper of God…”
REVELATION 19:18 “…so that you may eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of commanders and the flesh of mighty men and the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them and the flesh of all men, both free men and slaves, and small and great.”
REVELATION 19:19 And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army.
REVELATION 19:20 And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image…these two were thrown alive into the Lake of Fire which burns with brimstone.
REVELATION 19:21 And the rest were killed with the sword which came from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse, and all the birds were filled with their flesh.
Revelation, Chapter 20, Verses 1 to 3…
REVELATION 20:1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand.
REVELATION 20:2 And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years…
REVELATION 20:3 …and he threw him into the abyss, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he would not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed…after these things he must be released for a short time.
So is it true? Will all Israel be saved? Will The Jews be saved just because they are Jewish? We’ll continue our look at this passage in the next lesson to see just what the Lord has planned for Israel’s future.

There’s only one way to get to heaven…in John, Chapter 14, Verse 6, the Lord Jesus Christ said…
JOHN 14:6 …to Thomas, the doubting apostle, “I am the way (to salvation), and (I am) the truth (the Word of God)…and (I am) the (resurrection) life (eternal life)…and no one comes to God the Father but through believing in Me.”
In John, Chapter 3, Verse 3, the Lord Jesus Christ Himself gives instruction on how to be saved to Nicodemus…a religious Pharisee…
JOHN 3:3 Jesus said to Nicodemus, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a person is born again (the spiritual birth) he cannot see the kingdom of God the Father.”
JOHN 3:4 Nicodemus said to the Lord Jesus Christ, “How can a man be born again when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he?”
JOHN 3:5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of the water of the Word (the gospel message) and the (baptism by God the Holy) Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
JOHN 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh (in other words, that which comes from mortals is mortal), and that which is born (again) of the (baptism of God the Holy) Spirit is spirit.”
JOHN 3:7 “Do not be amazed (Nicodemus) that I (the Lord Jesus Christ) said to you, ‘You must be born again.’”
