Welcome To BARAH MINISTRIES

a Christian Church

But remember the former days, when, after being enlightened, you endured a great conflict of sufferings,//partly by being made a public spectacle through reproaches and tribulations, and partly by becoming
sharers with those who were so treated.

For you showed sympathy to the prisoners and accepted joyfully the seizure of your property, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and a lasting one.//Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.//For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.

TODAY’S STUDY

Romans Chapter 1- Faith is Anything BUT a Doctrine

Romans, Chapter 1,
Verses 8 to 15
Paul’s Prayer for the Purpose of his Ministry

First, I (Paul) thank my God (the Father in prayer) through Jesus Christ(’s name) for you all (believers in Rome), because your faith is being proclaimed throughout the whole world (all over the Roman Empire).

For God (the Father), whom I (Paul) serve in my (human) spirit in the preaching of the gospel of His Son (the Lord Jesus Christ), is my witness as to how unceasingly I make mention of you (believers in Rome…in intercessory prayer)…

…always in my prayers making request (even in petition for myself as well), if perhaps now at last by the will of God I may succeed in coming to (visit) you.

For I (Paul) long to see you (believers in Rome) so that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, that you may be established…

…that is, that I (Paul) may be encouraged together with you while among you, (as) each of us (is encouraged) by the other’s faith, both yours (encouraging me) and mine (encouraging you).

I do not want you to be unaware, brethren (believers in Rome), that often I have planned to come to you (and have been prevented so far…even though I wanted to come) so that I may obtain some fruit among you also, even as (I obtain fruit) among the rest of the Gentiles.

I (Paul) am under obligation both to Greeks (people who speak Greek) and to barbarians (people who don’t speak Greek), both to the wise (believers in Christ) and to the foolish (unbelievers).

So, for my part, I am eager to preach the gospel (as a minster) to you also who are in Rome.

QUIZ
Romans, Chapter 1,
Verses 8 to 15
What is faith?
Verse 8
“Your faith is being proclaimed throughout the whole world”

What is faith from God’s point of view?

But (God) the (Holy) Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith (in the Lord Jesus Christ), paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons…

… (let us believers in Christ keep on) fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the
right hand of the throne of God.

For to me (Paul), to live is (occupation with) Christ and to die is gain (profitable).

…for we (believers in Christ) walk by faith, not by sight —

“He who believes in Him (the Lord Jesus Christ) is not judged; he who does not believe (in the Lord Jesus Christ) has been judged already, because he has not believed in the Name (the Person) of the only begotten  (uniquely born) Son of God.

When they came to the crowd, a man came up to Jesus, falling on his knees before Him (the Lord) and saying…

“Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is a lunatic (epileptic) and is very ill; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water.”

“I brought him to Your disciples, and they could not cure him.”

And Jesus answered and said, “You unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him here to Me.”

And Jesus rebuked him (the demon), and the demon came out of him (the man’s son), and the boy was cured at once.

Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not drive it (the demon) out?”

And He (the Lord Jesus Christ) said to them, “Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.”

For by grace you have been saved through faith (alone in the Lord Jesus Christ alone); and that  (grace, faith, and salvation) is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;//not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. In the matter of people, do these words come to mind…

BREAK
Away from You
When I Think About Home

For the flesh (the sin nature) sets its desire against (God) the (Holy) Spirit, and (God) the (Holy) Spirit (sets its desire against) against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.

This command I (Paul) entrust to you, Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you fight the good fight…

…keeping faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and suffered shipwreck in regard to their faith.

For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with manygriefs (pangs).

But flee from these things, you man of God (Timothy), and (instead) pursue righteousness, godliness (the Christian Way of Living), faith, (unconditional) love, perseverance and gentleness.

Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and (to which) you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

I (Paul) have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith;//in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.

Beloved, while I (Jude) was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed
down to the saints.

“And to the angel of the church in Pergamum write: The One  (the Lord Jesus Christ) who has the sharp two-edged sword says this…”

“‘I (the Lord Jesus Christ) know where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is; and you hold fast My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days of Antipas, My witness, My faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.’

So when it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be with you.”

And when He had said this, He showed them both His hands and His side. The disciples then rejoiced when they saw the Lord.

So Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”

And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”

“If you forgive the sins of any, their sins have been forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they have been retained.”

But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.

So the other disciples were saying to him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the imprint of the nails, and put my finger into the place of the nails, and put my hand into
His side, I will not believe.”

After eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors having been shut, and stood in their midst and said, “Peace be with you.”

Then He said to Thomas, “Reach here with your finger, and see My hands; and reach here your hand and put it into My side; and do not be unbelieving, but believing.”

Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”

Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed.”

Therefore I (Paul), the prisoner of the Lord, implore you  (believers in Christ) to walk (to have a lifestyle) in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called…

…with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in  (unconditional) love,//being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

There is one body (the Royal family of God) and one  (God the Holy) Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling;//one Lord, one faith, one baptism,//one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in(dwelling) all.

But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift.//Therefore it says, “WHEN HE ASCENDED ON HIGH, HE LED CAPTIVE A HOST OF CAPTIVES, AND HE GAVE GIFTS TO MEN.”

(Now this expression, “He ascended,” what does it mean except that He also had descended into the lower parts of the earth?//He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things.)

And He (the Lord Jesus Christ) gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers…

…for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ…

…until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.

As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming…

…but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ…

…from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

CLOSING SONG
Alabaster Box

For I am confident of this very thing, that He (God the Father) who began a (divine) good work in (the creation of) you will (keep on) perfect(ing) it until the day of Christ Jesus.

Do not fret because of evildoers, Be not envious toward wrongdoers.//For they will wither quickly like the grass And fade like the green herb.

And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard (garrison) your hearts and your minds (for those of you) in (union with) Christ Jesus.
