Welcome To
BARAH MINISTRIES
a Christian Church
Rory Clark
Pastor-Teacher
Good Morning!
Welcome to Barah Ministries…a worldwide Christian Church based in Mesa, AZ…my name is Pastor Rory Clark.
How secure are you in this life? What is the source of your security? The one who trusts the Lord Jesus Christ for the answers is safe and secure and is never alone…because the Lord protects us from danger…Psalm 91 says this…
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
The Lord is our security.
I will say to the Lord, “My refuge (my protection from danger) and my fortress (my strength), My God, in whom I trust!”
Trust is a key component of feeling secure.
For it is the Lord who delivers you from the snare of the trapper and from the deadly pestilence.
The Lord will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings you may seek refuge…His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.
You will not be afraid of the terror by night, or of the arrow that flies by day…
…or of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, or of the destruction that lays waste at noon.
A thousand may fall at your side (in defeat) and ten thousand (may fall in defeat) at your right hand, but defeat shall not approach you.
You will only look on with your eyes and see the recompense (the compensation) of the wicked (which is defeat).
For you have made the Lord, your refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place.
No evil will befall you, nor will any plague come near your tent.
For the Lord will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways.
They will bear you up in their hands, that you do not strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread upon the lion and cobra, the young lion and the serpent you will trample down.
The Lord says, “Because a believer has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name.”
“He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.”
“With a long life I will satisfy him and let him see My salvation.”
Welcome to a place where you can feel safe and secure as you trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word.

CAST MY CARES ON YOU
Finding Favour
The opening song is CAST MY CARES ON YOU by Finding Favour.
CAST MY CARES ON YOU
When fear feels bigger than my faith
And struggles steal my breath away
When my back’s pressed up against the wall
With the weight of my worries stacked up tall
You’re strong enough to hold it all
CAST MY CARES ON YOU
I will cast my cares on You
You’re the anchor of my hope
You’re the One who’s in control
I will cast my cares on You
I'll trade the troubles of this world
For Your peace inside my soul
CAST MY CARES ON YOU
This war’s not what I would’ve chosen
But You see the future no one knows ye
And you’re still good when I can't
See the working of Your hands
You're holding it all
CAST MY CARES ON YOU
I will cast my cares on You
You’re the anchor of my hope
You’re the One who’s in control
I will cast my cares on You
I'll trade the troubles of this world
For Your peace inside my soul
CAST MY CARES ON YOU
I’m finding there’s freedom
When I lay it all on Your shoulders
Cast my cares
I will
Cast my cares
I will
Cast my cares on You
CAST MY CARES ON YOU
Cast my cares
I will
Cast my cares
I will
Cast my cares on You
CAST MY CARES ON YOU

TODAY’S STUDY
Is “I” the Solution to Your Flesh Problem?
No that’s not improper grammar. Is “I?” It’s really more of a subtle statement. The “I” in you is DEFINITELY not the solution to your flesh problem. Yet if you check Romans, Chapter 7, you’ll see “I” used a lot of times… “I” … the struggle we often enter into in the matter of the flesh.
We’re studying the second passage in Romans, Chapter 7, Verses 7 to 13. We use the New American Standard translation of the bible. I thought it might be interesting for you to see how a couple of other trusted translations handle the passage…and quite often, especially if you have a computer bible, or great bible software, it may be worthwhile for you to briefly check these two translations to see if they lend clarity to your study…first the Wuest translation...
ROM 7:7 (Wuest)
What therefore shall we say? The law, is it sin? Away with the thought! Certainly I did not come into an experiential knowledge of sin except through the instrumentality of law, for I had not known evil desire except that the law kept on saying, You shall not desire evil.
ROM 7:8 (Wuest)
But the sinful nature, using the commandment as a fulcrum, brought about in me every kind of evil craving. For without law, the sinful nature was dead.
ROM 7:9 (Wuest)
But I was alive without law aforetime. But the commandment having come, the sinful nature regained its strength and vigor, and I died.
ROM 7:10 (Wuest)
And the commandment which was to life, this I found to be to death…
ROM 7:11 (Wuest)
…for the sinful nature, using the commandment as a fulcrum, beguiled me and through it killed me.
ROM 7:12 (Wuest)
So that the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and righteous, and good.
ROM 7:13 (Wuest)
Therefore, that which is good, to me did it become death? Away with the thought! But the sinful nature, in order that it might become evident that it is sin, through that which is good [the commandment] brought about death in me, in order that the sinful nature [its impulses and workings] through the intermediate agency of the commandment may become obvious as exceedingly sinful.
Now a different and trusted version…the New International Version…
ROM 7:7 (New International Version)
What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.”
ROM 7:8 (New International Version)
But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, produced in me every kind of coveting. For apart from the law, sin was dead.
ROM 7:9 (New International Version)
Once I was alive apart from the law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died.
ROM 7:10 (New International Version)
I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life actually brought death.
ROM 7:11 (New International Version)
For sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, deceived me, and through the commandment put me to death.
ROM 7:12 (New International Version)
So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous and good.
ROM 7:13 (New International Version)
Did that which is good, then, become death to me? By no means! Nevertheless, in order that sin might be recognized as sin, it used what is good to bring about my death, so that through the commandment sin might be seen for what it is…utterly sinful.
What we have learned so far is the LAW is a spotlight…how well do you like what you see under the spotlight? How well do you like how the LAW illuminates your inner game?
As you take the music break here in your seats…enjoy the words of the songs…and start thinking about how to get out of the struggle of SIN and the LAW and THE FLESH…we certainly know “I” is not the way out.
MUSIC BREAK
Word of God Speak
Mercy Me
We Fall Down
Kutless
WORD OF GOD SPEAK
I’m finding myself at a loss for words
And the funny thing is it’s okay
The last thing I need is to be heard
But to hear what You would say
WORD OF GOD SPEAK
Word of God speak
Would you pour down like rain
Washing my eyes to see
Your majesty
WORD OF GOD SPEAK
To be still and know
That you’re in this place
Please let me stay and rest
In your holiness
Word of God Speak
WORD OF GOD SPEAK
I’m finding myself in the midst of You
Beyond the music, beyond the noise
All that I need is to be with You
And in the quiet hear Your voice
WORD OF GOD SPEAK
Word of God speak
Would you pour down like rain
Washing my eyes to see
Your majesty
WORD OF GOD SPEAK
To be still and know
That you’re in this place
Please let me stay and rest
In your holiness
WORD OF GOD SPEAK
Word of God speak
Would you pour down like rain
Washing my eyes to see
Your majesty
WORD OF GOD SPEAK
To be still and know
That you’re in this place
Please let me stay and rest
In your holiness
WORD OF GOD SPEAK
I’m finding myself at a loss for words
And the funny thing is it’s okay
WE FALL DOWN
We fall down
We lay our crowns
At the feet of Jesus
The greatness of…
Mercy and love
At the feet of Jesus
WE FALL DOWN
And we cry Holy, Holy, Holy
We cry Holy, Holy, Holy
And we cry Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lamb
WE FALL DOWN
We fall down
We lay our crowns
At the feet of Jesus
The greatness of…
Mercy and love
At the feet of Jesus
WE FALL DOWN
And we cry Holy, Holy, Holy
We cry Holy, Holy, Holy
And we cry Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lamb
MUSICAL INTERLUDE
WE FALL DOWN
And we cry Holy, Holy, Holy
We cry Holy, Holy, Holy
And we cry Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lamb
We cry Holy, Holy, Holy
We cry Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lamb…
TODAY’S STUDY
Is I the Solution to Your Flesh Problem?
Is “I” the solution to your flesh problem? Decidedly not! Or as Paul would say, “May it never be!” Romans, Chapter 6, Verses 12 to 14 illuminate our great struggle with SIN…and the opportunity…
Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts…
We have a choice…
…and do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
Now, a perfect God’s intention for you…Romans, Chapter 6, Verse 14…
For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
In Romans, Chapter 7, the LAW illuminates our struggles with SIN and makes us aware of who we really are… Romans, Chapter 7, Verse 24…
Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death?
Notice…Paul’s concern is not, “How will ‘I’ delver myself from this?” Paul’s concern is, “Who will deliver me? Who will set me free?”
Then there’s our great struggle with THE FLESH…the power of indwelling sin…the “spiritual” arm bar…Galatians, Chapter 5, Verse 17…
For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.
Let’s face the facts…we may SAY we struggle with SIN and the LAW and THE FLESH…but we don’t…WE ARE COMPLETELY DOMINATED BY THEM. If we are smart, we are looking for a way out of the struggle. “I” is not the way out. Like Paul, we continue in the struggle when we have the delusion that we can take on SIN and the LAW and THE FLESH with human power. Human power is powerless against the “arm bar” trio.
The indwelling God the Holy Spirit is the only way out of the struggle. Believers in Christ are to steer clear of the struggle…Romans, Chapter 6, Verse 11…
Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
Romans, Chapter 7, Verse 6…
But now we have been released from the Law, having died to that by which we were bound, so that we serve in newness of the Spirit and not in oldness of the letter.
We are to steer clear of the struggle…Matthew, Chapter 26, Verse 41…the Lord told His apostles…
“Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
Second Corinthians, Chapter 10, Verse 3…
For though we believers in Christ walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh…
No! God the Holy Spirit is the One who “wars” for us! Second Corinthians, Chapter 10, Verse 4…
…for the weapons of our warfare are not of the (kind used by the) flesh, but the weapons of our warfare are divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.
There is no spiritual strength in us except the strength of the indwelling Trinity.
In the struggle with the flesh…in whom do you place your faith?
When you place your faith for handling the struggle of Sin and the Law and THE FLESH in God’s hands, you KNOW, with absolute certainty, because of the inerrant accuracy of His Word, that He will come through as He promises every time. Hebrews, Chapter 11, Verse 1…
Now faith is the assurance that you already have the things you hope for…faith is the conviction that you already have the things you have not yet seen.
Your other option is to handle the struggle with human power, to get vanquished by the flesh (because it is more powerful than you) and to learn through “hard knocks” experience rather than through the experience of another that human power is useless.
For example…cocaine use…you can have someone tell you that cocaine is bad, and you can listen to them and avoid it…or you can try it for yourself and experience for yourself anxiety, convulsions, irritability, restlessness, panic attacks, paranoia, full-blown psychosis, and the loss of touch with reality including experiences of auditory hallucinations and other toxic effects including significant weight loss and malnourishment. That’s what most people want to do…they want to learn through trial and error instead of
using wisdom as a guide. First Corinthians, Chapter 15, Verse 56…
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law…
Death through SIN…SIN gains power from the LAW…First Corinthians, Chapter 15, Verse 57…
…but thanks be to God the Father, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Deliverance from the struggle through Christ…deliverance from the struggle through God the Holy Spirit…no delivery from the struggle through “I.”
When the Lord Jesus Christ
Promises Salvation, It’s a Guarantee!
…as it is written, “There is none righteous, not even one”
But God the Father demonstrates His own unconditional love toward all mankind, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
For God the Father did not send the Son (the Lord Jesus Christ) into the world to condemn the world, but the Father sent His Son into the world that the world might be saved through believing in Him.
But as many as received the Lord (taking advantage of the free gift of salvation), to them He gave the right (once and for all time) to become children of God…to those who believe in Christ’s name…

I’ve known you for an eternity
You’ve always been on My mind
I’ve had a plan just made for you
Since before the beginning of time

I’ll work all things for good
Because I know you love Me
Child, this must be understood
DESTINY

Come take My hand and follow Me
Just trust in Me, come taste and see
That there is none, no one like Me
Who will lead you to and be to you your destiny

Protector, valiant knight
I’ll caress you, hold you near,
Through all your days and nights

I’ll lead you to your destiny
Come take My hand and follow Me
