PASTOR RORY CLARK Barah Ministries www.barahministries.com
Hi there!
Welcome to Barah Ministries…a Christian Church based in Mesa, AZ…my name is Pastor Rory Clark.
Often, we hear the truth of the Word of God expressed by a Pastor as he teaches it. Songs also do a great job of communicating the truth of the Word of God as well. Here at Barah Ministries, we are blessed to have one of the best songwriters, one of the best singers, and one of the best music producers, all wrapped up in a single package. Her name is June Murphy…and her songs are amazing at communicating the truth of the Word of God. So for the next several lesson we are going to hear the truth of the Word of God communicated by June in song. Today’s song is…
TODAY’S SONG Count It All Joy
What is your attitude when things aren’t going your way…when you are under the pressures of tribulation and distresses and persecution and danger…especially when these things involve intimate and personal relationships…or intimate friendships… a couple of the places you consider to be “safe havens” … which turn out to be not so safe at all? Well James has some advice. James, Chapter 1, Verses 2 to 4…
James 1:2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials…
James 1:3 …knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
James 1:4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
James says to consider tribulation to be joyful when you are living in the discomfort of trials and tribulations and distresses and persecution. And you can see from that advice why people didn’t like the Lord Jesus Christ’s half brother James so much! Of course I’m kidding! J

COUNT IT ALL JOY June Murphy
Well here’s June Murphy to sing a song based on James’ advice…it’s a song entitled COUNT IT ALL JOY.
COUNT IT ALL JOY Count it all joy When you fall into various trials Count it all joy The testing of your faith is worthwhile
COUNT IT ALL JOY It can produce in you patience When you’re God’s obedient child When you fall into various trials Count it all joy
COUNT IT ALL JOY Count it all joy Afflictions are momentary and light Count it all joy Things work for the good when the attitude is right
COUNT IT ALL JOY You know that heartaches and troubles Will one day be out of sight Afflictions are momentary and light… You should count it all joy
COUNT IT ALL JOY With diligence You can add to your faith virtue To virtue, knowledge To knowledge, self-control
COUNT IT ALL JOY To self-control, perseverance To perseverance, godliness To godliness, brotherly kindness And to brotherly kindness, love
COUNT IT ALL JOY Count it all joy Afflictions are momentary and light Count it all joy Things work for the good when the attitude is right
COUNT IT ALL JOY Compared to the eternal weight of glory Nothing measures up in this life So press on toward the goal that’s in sight And count it all joy
COUNT IT ALL JOY Whoa…when you fall into various trials Count it all joy
COUNT IT ALL JOY Jesus said in this world you’d have tribulation It is something you’ll never be able to avoid But don’t you worry Don’t be surprised or discouraged You can count it all joy
The apostle Peter, the one who denied that he knew the Lord three times, knew a few things about tribulation…he also has some advice for us in the heat of the spiritual battle…Second Peter, Chapter 1, Verses 2 to 8…
Second Peter 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God the Father and in the knowledge of Jesus our Lord…
Second Peter 1:3 …seeing that the Lord’s divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to the resurrection life and godly living, through the true knowledge of the One (the Lord Jesus Christ) who called us by His own glory and excellence.
Second Peter 1:4 For by these (Christ’s glory and goodness) the Lord has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.
Second Peter 1:5 Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge…
Second Peter 1:6 …and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness…
Second Peter 1:7 …and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, unconditional love.
Second Peter 1:8 For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The apostle Paul has some encouragement for us in Second Corinthians, Chapter 4, Verse 17…
Second Corinthians 4:17 For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison…
June does a fantastic job of capturing these biblical sentiments in song…don’t you agree?
Psalm 95, Verse 1 says…
Psalm 95:1 O come, let us sing for joy to the Lord, let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation.
Thank you June for enriching our souls with your music. You truly have a gift.
We dedicate the closing moments of our lesson today to anyone watching or listening that does not have a relationship with THE God, the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Remember this…John, Chapter 3, Verse 36 says…
John 3:36 He who believes in the Son (the Lord Jesus Christ) has eternal life (the resurrection life, right at that moment); but he who does not obey the command to believe in the Son will not see the resurrection life, but instead the wrath of God the Father (the Lake of Fire) abides on him.”
Right now, you can tell God the Father that you believe in His Son, and that’s the moment of eternal life for you. It’s the best, and most important decision you can make in your lifetime. Five simple words get you to heaven…“Father, I believe in Christ.” For a thief being crucified next to Jesus, it was a nine word request…Luke, Chapter 23, Verses 42 and 43…
Luke 23:42-43 And the repentant thief was saying, “Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!”//And Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.”
Don’t wait! Make the best decision of your life right now. You won’t ever regret believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. When you go through various trials, it’s nice to have Him on your side.
