Hi there!

Welcome to Barah Ministries…a Christian Church based in Mesa, AZ…my name is Pastor Rory Clark.

Often, we hear the truth of the Word of God expressed by a Pastor as he teaches it.   Songs also do a great job of communicating the truth of the Word of God as well.  Here at Barah Ministries, we are blessed to have one of the best songwriters, one of the best singers, and one of the best music producers, all wrapped up in a single package.  Her name is June Murphy…and her songs are amazing at communicating the truth of the Word of God.  So for the next several lesson we are going to hear the truth of the Word of God communicated by June in song.  Today’s song is…

TODAY’S SONG

Destiny

I think your destiny can be expressed in a mathematical formula.  D1+D2+D3+…+Dn=Your Destiny.  In other words, your destiny is really the sum total of all your decisions…the accumulation of the results of your choices.  I’ve come to learn that’s not absolutely true, because there is a host of things the Lord Jesus Christ does for you in grace that have nothing do with your choices.  But it’s probably a good bet that if you look at the things that are going well in your life, and if you look at the things that are not going well in your life, you can trace things back to decisions you have made.  Some of those decisions have been terrific some have not.  And if you compare your decisions to what God tells us to do, and what God tells us not to do, you’ll see wisdom when your choices align with God’s thoughts and foolishness when they don’t.

Destiny…what is it?

Destiny

The power that determines a course of events.

Sometimes that occurs because of your choices…more often, it is the Lord Jesus Christ taking your life into His loving hands and directing your course.

DESTINY

June Murphy

Well here’s June Murphy to sing a song about the Lord’s loving guidance…it’s a song entitled DESTINY.

DESTINY

I’ve known you for an eternity

You’ve always been on My mind

I’ve had a plan just made for you

Since before the beginning of time

DESTINY

I only want what’s best for you

I’ll work all things for good

Because I know you love Me child

This must be understood

DESTINY

I’ll lead you to your destiny

Come take My hand and follow Me

Just trust in Me…come taste and see

That there is none, no One like Me

Who will lead you to and be to you your destiny

DESTINY

I am the lover of your soul

Protector, Valiant Knight

I’ll caress you, hold you near

Through all your days and nights

DESTINY

My banner over you is love

You are My precious bride

I died and rose to live again

I’ll never leave your side

DESTINY

I’ll lead you to your destiny

Come take My hand and follow Me

Just trust in Me, come taste and see

That there is none, no one like Me

Who will lead you to and be to you

DESTINY

I will dry your tears, and calm your fears

I won’t let you go, I love you so

I’ll come back one day, sweep you away

I will take you home…I am alone your destiny

It’s so encouraging to know that the Lord Jesus Christ has the power that directs the lives of His believers…a power that has predetermined the course of events that leads us to our DESTINY.  June Murphy does a fantastic job of capturing these biblical sentiments in song…don’t you agree?

 Psalm 95, Verse 1 says…

Psalm 95:1

O come, let us sing for joy to the Lord, let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation.

Thank you June for enriching our souls with your music.

We dedicate the closing moments of our lesson today to anyone watching or listening that does not have a relationship with THE God, the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the shaper of destiny.  Remember this…John, Chapter 3, Verse 36 says…

John 3:36

He who believes in the Son (the Lord Jesus Christ) has eternal life (the resurrection life, right at that moment); but he who does not obey the command to believe in the Son will not see the resurrection life, but instead the wrath of God the Father (the Lake of Fire) abides on him.”

Right now, you can tell God the Father that you believe in His Son, and that’s the

moment of eternal life for you.  It’s the best, and most important decision you can make in your lifetime.  Five simple words get you to heaven…“Father, I believe in Christ.”  For a thief being crucified next to Jesus, it was a nine word request…Luke, Chapter 23, Verses 42 and 43…

Luke 23:42-43

And the repentant thief was saying, “Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!”//And Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.”

Don’t wait!  Make the best decision of your life right now.  You won’t ever regret believing in the Lord Jesus Christ.
