RORY CLARK

Pastor-Teacher

Good Morning!

I’m Pastor Rory Clark welcoming you to a Bible lesson with Barah Ministries, an intimate online Christian community committed to learning the Word of God verse-by-verse.  I’m happy to teach the Word to those who want a deep, intimate and personal relationship with the Savior of the world and the Sovereign God of the Universe, the Lord Jesus Christ.

No matter where you are in the world, no matter how the Lord gets this Bible lesson to you, thanks for listening!

Studying the Bible is one of the best gifts you give yourself every day.

TODAY’S BIBLE LESSON

Jesus is the Word…the Life…and the Light

LESSON INTRODUCTION

The Lord Jesus Christ uses many terms to describe Himself by way of analogy…  The Door…The Good Shepherd…and The Bread of Life are a few.  Throughout the Bible He is described in these ways to enable human understanding, like in Isaiah, Chapter 9, Verse 6…

ISAIAH 9:6

A child will be born to us…a Son will be GIVEN to us…and the government of the universe will rest on His shoulders…and His name will be called Wonderful Counselor…Mighty God…Eternal Father…Prince of Peace.

Today, as we embark on our study of the Gospel of John, Chapter 1 we’ll investigate three of those terms to see what they tell us about our Almighty Savior.

OPENING SONG INTRODUCTION

Let’s hear some music!  In Jeremiah, Chapter 29, Verse 11 the Lord speaks to all of us through the prophet.  He says…

JEREMIAH 29:11

‘I know the plans that I have for you’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for your welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.’

In God’s plan, hope means that we can have absolute confidence the Lord will keep His Word and He will come through for us in every situation.  Let’s listen to a song by Keith and Kristyn Getty along with Matt Papa.  They say CHRIST IS OUR HOPE IN LIFE AND DEATH.

OPENING PRAYER

Let us pray...

We’re grateful to You Heavenly Father for providing us with the absolute truth of the Word of God…

Father, thank you for giving us Your Word, both the inerrant canon of Scripture…the Bible, and The Word who is Your Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ…thank you for giving us a new life at the moment of our salvation through the new birth…the resurrection life which allows us born-again ones to live with You forever when we close our eyes in this life…and thank you for the Light… God the Son…who illuminates our steps in this earthly journey…and thank you for God the Holy Spirit who leads us into all the truth…

…as we continue our study of the biography of Your Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ…the Gospel of John…let the things we study give us unique insight into how wonderful He is and into all the things He means to us…

…we ask these things through the power of God the Holy Spirit…in Christ’s

name...Amen.

TODAY’S BIBLE LESSON

Jesus is the Word…the Light…and the Life

LESSON PART ONE

We’re ramping up our study of the gospel of the apostle John in Chapter 1.  The chapter has an interesting flow in that it is broken into parts.  Today we’ll study three of those parts.

We’ll learn about the Word and the Life and the Light.  Here’s the subject matter breakdown…

SUBJECT MATTER BREAKDOWN OF JOHN CHAPTER 1

About the Word

John 1:1 to 1:3

John 1:14

SUBJECT MATTER BREAKDOWN OF JOHN CHAPTER 1

About the Life

John 1:4a

SUBJECT MATTER BREAKDOWN OF JOHN CHAPTER 1

About the Light

John 1:4b to 1:5

John 1:9 to 1:13

Let’s take a look at the verses.  Jesus is THE WORD…John, Chapter 1, Verses 1 to 3 and Verse 14…

JOHN 1:1

In the beginning was the Word…and the Word was with God…and the Word was God.

JOHN 1:2

He was in the beginning with God.

JOHN 1:3

All things came into being through Him…and apart from Him, nothing came into being that has come into being.

JOHN 1:14

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Jesus is THE LIFE…John, Chapter 1, Verse 4…

JOHN 1:4a

In Him was life...

Jesus is THE LIGHT…John, Chapter 1, Verses 4 and 5 and Verses 9 to 13…

JOHN 1:4b

…and the life was the Light of men.

JOHN 1:5

The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

JOHN 1:9

There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man.

JOHN 1:10

He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.

JOHN 1:11

He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him.

JOHN 1:12

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name…

JOHN 1:13

…who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

If we can say the messages of these verses make up a passage, let’s study the passage verse-by verse.  I encourage you to read John, Chapter 1 as we study to see the messages the apostle John is sending with all fifty-one verses.

John, Chapter 1, Verse 1…

JOHN 1:1

In the beginning (not really a beginning) was the Word (the Lord…God the Son) and the Word (the Lord…God the Son) was with God the Father…and the Word (the Lord…God the Son) was God.

BOLD!

Like a great writer, John gets right to the point with the thesis of his gospel.  The Thesis?  Jesus Christ is God.  Jesus Christ is Deity.  He is not merely a man…He is not merely a teacher…He is not merely a prophet…He is not merely a good rabbi as many claim…taking their lead from the lies communicated by the enemy of God to diminish the Lord.  Jesus Christ is GOD…the Sovereign God of the Universe, and nothing in the universe happens without his permission.

Even the fallen angels, who rejected a relationship with Jesus Christ, know exactly who He is…James, Chapter 2, Verse 19…

JAMES 2:19

You believe there is one God. You do well to believe this!  The demons (the fallen angels) also believe this, and they shudder.

That sounds like beings who know their fate!

What else does John want us to know about THE WORD?  John, Chapter 1, Verse 2…

JOHN 1:2

The Word…the Lord…God the Son…existed from the beginning (not really a beginning) and He was there with God the Father.

The Lord…God the Son…has always existed…and there never was nor will there ever be a time when He doesn’t exist.  He is the eternal God with no beginning and no ending.

There’s nothing the Lord hasn’t seen with His own eyes.  Nothing in angelic history.  Nothing in human history.  He has seen it all and presided over it all.

John, Chapter 1, Verse 3 announces the Lord as the Creator…

JOHN 1:3

All things came into being through THE WORD…the Lord…God the Son…and apart from Him not even a single thing came into being that has come into being.

Look around you.  Everything you see came from the Lord, including the person you see when you look in the mirror.  Your parents gave birth, but the Lord created you.  You are one of His many creatures.  He offers you the life if you want it.

God the Father…seeing the sin dilemma created by Adam’s first sin which condemned the entire human race, sent THE WORD to save all mankind.

The apostle says in John, Chapter 1, Verse 14…

JOHN 1:14

And the Word (the Lord…God the Son) became flesh (as Jesus…the Christ…the Messiah) … and He lived among us…and we apostles saw His glory with our own eyes…glory as of the only begotten One from the source…God the Father…full of grace and full of truth.

The Lord Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man.  By taking on human form, He communicated a simple and powerful idea in Hebrews, Chapter 4, Verse 15…

HEBREWS 4:15

For we do not have a high priest (in the Lord Jesus Christ) who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses…but we have a high priest who has been tempted in all things just as we are, yet He is without sin.

So what is John communicating to us in these four powerful verses?  What do we now know about The Word?

1

We can know the truth about THE WORD (the Lord…God the Son) through studying the Bible.

2

We can’t know about the depth of character THE WORD has without the Bible.

Yes…God communicates His plan for mankind in many ways, but the Bible takes our understanding to a wholly different level.

3

We can know THE WORD without seeing Him.  He is manifest even in nature.  Through the courtesy of the internet, you can get to know someone in a country across the ocean without ever meeting them face-to-face.  You can get to know THE WORD before you meet Him as well.

4

We can know God the Father through the Lord Jesus Christ.  Psalm 19, Verse 1…

PSALM 19:1

The heavens are telling of the glory of God the Father…and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.

5

God the Holy Spirit reveals God to us according to the Lord in John, Chapter 16, Verse 13…

JOHN 16:13a

When God the Holy Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth.

6

Sin has a price.  There must be an atonement for sin.  The Lord Jesus Christ is the One and only acceptable atonement for sin.  First John, Chapter 2, Verse 2…

FIRST JOHN 2:2

…and the Lord Jesus Christ Himself is the propitiation for our sins (the only perfectly satisfactory payment for sin in the eyes of God the Father) … and not for our sins only as believers in Christ, but also for the sins of the whole world.

7

Jesus Christ removed the burden of sin from mankind.  At the Cross He made another bold proclamation…John, Chapter 19, Verse 30…

JOHN 19:30

Therefore, when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.

“It is finished” is a Greek idiom.  It means “paid in full.”  At the Cross, the Lord Jesus Christ paid the sin debt in full so we wouldn’t have to do something we could not do.  The Lord Jesus Christ is able to satisfy our needs completely…and He does… happily!

The Gospel of John is all the evidence anyone could ever need about the existence of God.  When we return from the break, we’ll request an offering and then we’ll study the other verses of the day from John, Chapter 1.

TODAY’S BIBLE LESSON

Jesus is the Word…the Life…and the Light

OFFERING INTRODUCTION

Giving is the Lord’s specialty.

God the Father GAVE His Son to save us…the Lord GAVE us the opportunity for salvation…God the Holy Spirit GIVES us direction in the spiritual life by leading us into all the truth.

The Bible is clear throughout its pages that Christians are called to give generously.  Proverbs, Chapter 3, Verses 9 and 10 encourage us to…

PROVERBS 3:9-10

Honor the Lord from your wealth and from the first of all your produce so your barns will be filled with plenty and your vats will overflow with new wine.

It is wise to imitate the Lord’s giving and to make giving your specialty as well, especially when you give to your favorite church.

Let’s listen to Deacon Denny Goodall present one of his always thoughtful and always inspiring offering messages.

TODAY’S BIBLE LESSON

Jesus is the Word…the Life…and the Light

LESSON PART TWO

The Lord is THE WORD, and it’s easy to see why.  As the Creator, He speaks things into existence.  Hebrews, Chapter 1, Verse 3…

HEBREWS 1:3

And the Lord Jesus Christ is the radiance of God the Father’s glory and Jesus is the exact representation of God the Father’s nature…and Jesus upholds all things by THE WORD of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high…

Let’s see why the Lord is called THE LIFE.

The word life occurs thirty-five times in John’s Gospel.  Jesus is the SOURCE of life.  Jesus gives LIFE to the whole world…John. Chapter 1, Verse 4…

JOHN 1:4a

In the Lord…God the Son…was the resurrection life (eternal life)…

Jesus offers the gift of eternal life to all who want it.  Our physical life comes from the Lord Jesus Christ…the Creator…just as it came to Adam in Genesis, Chapter 2, Verse 7…

GENESIS 2:7

Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of lives…and the man became a living being.

Our spiritual life comes from the Lord Jesus Christ as well…the ZOE life…the resurrection life.  The Lord is a life-giving spirit and we are dead without Him. First Corinthians, Chapter 15, Verse 45…

FIRST CORINTHIANS 15:45

…it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul.”  The last Adam (the Lord Jesus Christ) became a life-giving spirit.

The Lord gave us a spiritual life when we were spiritually dead.  In Ephesians, Chapter 2, Verses 1 to 6 the Lord reminds us of our condition at birth and what He did about it…

EPHESIANS 2:1

And you believers in Christ were spiritually dead in your trespasses and sins…

EPHESIANS 2:2

…in which trespasses and sins you formerly walked (as a lifestyle) according to the curriculum of Satan’s world system…following the ways of the prince of the power of the air (Satan)…following the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.

EPHESIANS 2:3

Among them, we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, gratifying the evil desires of the flesh and the mind…and we were by nature children of wrath just like the rest (of the unbelievers).

EPHESIANS 2:4

But God the Father…being rich in mercy…because of His great unconditional love with which He loved us…

EPHESIANS 2:5

…EVEN when we were spiritually dead in our transgressions…made us spiritually alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)…

EPHESIANS 2:6

…and God the Father raised us up with the Christ (the Messiah) … and seated us with Him in the heavenly places because we are in union with Christ Jesus…

Being born again means receiving a new birth and a new life from the Lord when we invest our faith in Him.  The new life is a divine life…eternal life…a life that can never be lost.  John, Chapter 10, Verse 28…

JOHN 10:28

…and I (the Lord Jesus Christ) give eternal life to believers in Christ and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of My hand.

First John, Chapter 5, Verse 11…

FIRST JOHN 5:11

And the testimony is this…that God the Father has given us eternal life, and this resurrection life comes from being in union with His Son.

God the Father is the source of our eternal life.  The Lord Jesus Christ is the conduit.  Jesus is THE LIFE…the propitiation for our sins.  Christians with the new birth and the new life…the spiritual life…were designed to live a life of abundance according to the Lord in John, Chapter 10, Verse 10…

JOHN 10:10

The thief (Satan) comes only to steal and kill and destroy…I (the Lord Jesus Christ) came that believers in Christ may have the resurrection life (ZOE)…and have it abundantly.

The Lord Jesus Christ walks with us through our life journey to ensure we have the life…Psalm 23, Verses 1 to 3…

PSALM 23:1

The Lord is the One who keeps on shepherding me…I cannot lack anything!

PSALM 23:2

The Lord makes me lie down in green pastures…He leads me beside quiet waters.

PSALM 23:3

The Lord restores my soul…He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His Name’s sake.

The Lord is the bread of life and the water of life, and the Bible mentions Him as the life in several passages…John, Chapter 1, Verse 4…

JOHN 1:4a

In Him was the resurrection life (eternal life)…

John, Chapter 20, Verse 31…

JOHN 20:31

…by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ you may have the resurrection life in His name…

John, Chapter 14, Verse 6…

JOHN 14:6

…I am the resurrection life…

For unbelievers a warning…John, Chapter 5, Verse 40…

JOHN 5:40

You are unwilling to come to Me so you may have the resurrection life…

The life the Lord gives us is irreplaceable.

The Lord is THE LIGHT.  John. Chapter 1, Verse 5…

JOHN 1:5

The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome the Light.

John. Chapter 1, Verses 9 to 13…

JOHN 1:9

There was the true Light (the Lord…God the Son) who, coming into the world, enlightens every man.

JOHN 1:10

The Lord…God the Son…was in the world…and the world was made through Him (He is the Creator)…and the world did not know Him.

JOHN 1:11

The Lord…God the Son…came to His own (the Jews)…and those who were His own did not receive Him (in fact, they rejected Him).

JOHN 1:12

But as many as received The Lord…God the Son…the whosoever that received Him…to them He gave the right to become children of God the Father, even to those who believe in Jesus’ name…

JOHN 1:13

…those who were the born-again ones…not of blood…nor of the will of the

flesh…nor of the will of man…but who were the born-again ones from God the

Father.

Jesus is the Light of the world but when He came to earth the world rejected Him because the world preferred darkness.  John, Chapter 8, Verse 12…

JOHN 8:12

Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world…he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness…instead, he will have the Light of life.”

Psalm 27, Verse 1…

PSALM 27:1

The Lord is my Light and my salvation…whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the defense of my life…whom shall I dread?

First John, Chapter 1, Verse 5…

FIRST JOHN 1:5

This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God the Father is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.

Light makes darkness disappear.  Light exposes darkness.  Ever feel “not good enough?”  It’s because you aren’t, and the Light reveals this sad but true fact.

Light makes it clear what is good and what is evil.  Light is righteousness… freedom from sin.

There is no darkness in heaven.

John, Chapter 1, Verse 5…

JOHN 1:5

The Light shines in the darkness…and the darkness did not overcome the Light.

In other words, Satan, who IS darkness did not overcome the Light (the Lord Jesus Christ).  To overcome means “to take while in pursuit…to overpower…to quench…to extinguish.”  The Light of the Lord and the light the Lord put in us cannot be put out.

First John, Chapter 1, Verse 5 said another way?

JOHN 1:5 (Phillips)

The light still shines in the darkness and the darkness is not no way (ouk)…not no how…not NEVER able to put the light out.

Ever!

There is the thought that when darkness comes each day it overcomes the light.  Perhaps the correct way to look at it is that the Lord has allowed the darkness a chance to prove itself, just like the Lord has allowed Satan a chance to prove his appeal in the Creator-creature conflict.

Satan says the Lord is unloving and unfair.  In the end, when the darkness is darkest, just before the light, the Light comes in and extinguishes the darkness.  Every day!  The darkness can intensify its darkness, yet the light always puts the darkness out, making it disappear.

Spiritual darkness has no chance against the Light.  The Lord gave His believers His light.  Matthew, Chapter 5, Verses 14 and 16…

MATTHEW 5:14

“You believers in Christ are the light of the world…”

MATTHEW 5:16

Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your God and Father who is in heaven.

The Lord warned unbelievers during his time on earth.  John, Chapter 12, Verses 35 and 36…

JOHN 12:35

So Jesus said to them, “For a little while longer the Light is among you. Walk

while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you…he who walks in

the darkness does not know where he is going.”

JOHN 12:36

“While you have the Light…believe in the Light…so that you may become sons of Light.”

As Christians, we are not the light but we reflect the light.  Light removes confusion.  John, Chapter 1, Verses 9 to 13…

JOHN 1:9

There was the true Light (the Lord…God the Son) who, coming into the world, enlightens every man.

The Lord is not a misleading light…

JOHN 1:10

The Lord…God the Son…was in the world…and the world was made through Him (He is the Creator)…and the world did not know Him.

Ingratitude.

The Lord left heaven to die for us, yet we were so preoccupied with the trappings of the world that we didn’t even notice Him.  The world did not want to see the Lord.  The Innkeeper had no room.  Herod was a grown man feeling threatened by a two-year old, and he had all children two and under killed.

JOHN 1:11

The Lord…God the Son…came to His own (the Jews)…and those who were His own did not receive Him (in fact, they rejected Him).

Yet rejection from humans didn’t stop the Lord from being generous…John, Chapter 1, Verse 12…

Father.

Many will say, “Prove there is a God!”  That’s the atheist plea.  Or the agnostic

claim…“I don’t think we can know if there is a God.  I guess we’ll find out one day.”

(EXAMPLE:  WARREN BUFFET)

Yet the Lord showed Himself to mankind and they couldn’t see what was right in front of them…the Savior of the world…the Word…the Life…and the Light of men.

So to all of the “show me” people…YOU’RE FULL OF IT.

The Lord Jesus Christ did show Himself and you ignored it.  He provides evidence of His existence constantly and you ignore it.  And we’ll continue to study the Gospel of John to see all the Lord reveals about His total goodness and the total depravity of His creatures.

THE GOSPEL MESSAGE

The Good News of Jesus Christ’s Salvation Offer to the Human Race

The final ten minutes of this lesson could be the ten most important minutes of your life.  You’ll be introduced to the good news concerning how you can spend all eternity in heaven when you close your eyes in this life.  We want you to know that…

GOD WANTS YOU!

He Wants You Make the Most Important Decision of Your Life

…and what He wants for you is that you make the most important decision of your life.

Do you have a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ?  If not, God considers you to be a sinner, which is a description of an unbeliever.  Yet as one of God’s creatures you are a focus of His concern and His mercy.  God’s attitude toward His creatures is described in Ephesians, Chapter 2, Verses 4 and 5…

EPHESIANS 2:4

God…being rich in mercy (toward unbelievers) … because of His great unconditional love with which He loved all of us…

EPHESIANS 2:5

…even when we were spiritually dead…

God loves you unconditionally and forgives you totally, especially when you are at your worst. In the spiritual realm you are at your worst when you are spiritually dead, living a lifestyle that follows the direction of God’s enemy, Satan, and his kingdom of darkness.  A life in spiritual darkness is not the life God wants for you.  John, Chapter 10, Verse 10 highlights the life the Lord is eager to provide…

JOHN 10:10

I (the Lord Jesus Christ) came that My creatures may have the resurrection life… and have it abundantly.

The resurrection life is a life in the Light.

All of us were born in a state of unrighteousness as members of the kingdom of darkness.  Said another way, we were born physically alive and spiritually dead as ungodly, unrighteous unbelievers.

It’s not your fault you were born this way, but IT IS YOUR CIRCUMSTANCE.

Who says so?  The Lord says so in His Word…First Corinthians, Chapter 15, Verse 22…

FIRST CORINTHIANS 15:22a

For all in union with Adam at physical birth (and that is every human who comes to earth) are spiritually dead and set to die the second death in the Lake of Fire…

Living a lifestyle of darkness means we don’t have a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ…First John, Chapter 1, Verse 6…

FIRST JOHN 1:6

If we say we have fellowship with God and yet walk in a lifestyle of darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth…

What’s the way out of a lifestyle of darkness?  The Bible shines a light on the way out…John, Chapter 20, Verse 31 says…

JOHN 20:31

…these things written in the Bible have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ…(the Lord…God the Son…who took on human form as Jesus…the Christ…the Messiah) … and that by believing in Him you may have the resurrection life (eternal life) in His name.

The way out of darkness can be summed up in one word…BELIEVE.  When you choose to have a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, He will usher you personally into a lifestyle of light…First John, Chapter 1, Verse 5…

FIRST JOHN 1:5

This is the message we apostles have heard from the Lord Jesus Christ personally and announce to you…that the Lord is Light…and in union with Him there is no darkness at all.

By trusting the Lord Jesus Christ to accomplish your salvation, He’ll provide you with a lifestyle in the light…John, Chapter 14, Verse 6…

JOHN 14:6

Jesus said to the doubting apostle Thomas, “I am the way (to salvation) … and I am the truth (through the gospel of Jesus Christ in the Word of God) … and I am the resurrection life (eternal life) … and no one comes to God the Father in heaven but through believing in Me.”

So what do you have to do to have a relationship with the Lord?  Acts, Chapter 16, Verse 31…

ACTS 16:31

“Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved by God, you and everyone in your household who also believes.”

JUST BELIEVE!

It’s pretty simple.  The Lord’s invitation is described in First Corinthians, Chapter 15, Verses 3 and 4…

FIRST CORINTHIANS 15:3

For I (Paul) delivered to all of you as of primary importance the gospel message I

also received from God…that it was Jesus Christ who died for our sins according

to the Old Testament Scriptures…

FIRST CORINTHIANS 15:4

…and that He was buried…and He was raised from the dead on the third day…according to the Old Testament Scriptures…

RIGHT WHERE YOU SIT, RIGHT NOW, RIGHT THIS MOMENT you can have a relationship with the Sovereign God of the Universe, the Lord Jesus Christ…and He will welcome you into a lifestyle of light…John, Chapter 3, Verse 36…

JOHN 3:36

“He who believes in the Son has the resurrection life right at that moment…but he who does not obey the command to believe in the Son will not see the resurrection life…instead the wrath of God (the Lake of Fire) abides on him.”

The Lord’s offer is directed to EVERYONE who wants to live a lifestyle in the light.  In John, Chapter 6, Verse 37, the Lord says…

JOHN 6:37b

…the ones who come to Me to believe in Me…I will certainly not cast out into the outer darkness…the Lake of Fire.

If you reject a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, which is your prerogative and your choice to remain in spiritual darkness…Revelation, Chapter 21, Verse 8…

REVELATION 21:8

“But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars (all descriptions of the lifestyles of unbelievers who are in the dark)…their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

Unbelievers move from spiritual death to the second death in the Lake of Fire

when they close their eyes in this life.  The worst part is they do so voluntarily.  It is NOT God’s will for them.

Don’t let that happen to you!  Join God in heaven, the kingdom of light, when you close your eyes in this life.  Romans, Chapter 10, Verse 13…

ROMANS 10:13

…for “whosoever will call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved by God.”

First Peter, Chapter 2, Verse 9 describes the Lord as…

FIRST PETER 2:9b

…Him who has called you unbelievers out of darkness into His marvelous light…

What will it be for you?  Spiritual death and a lifestyle of darkness or spiritual life and a lifestyle of light?  Make the right choice.  The Lord Jesus Christ and His kingdom of light are waiting for your call.

CLOSING SONG INTRODUCTION

Let’s close with music!

Second Corinthians, Chapter 4, Verse 4 says…

SECOND CORINTHIANS 4:4

…the god of this world (Satan) has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the Light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God the Father.

Our prayer, which we know will come true, is that our God continues to make things clear about JESUS…THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD.  Let’s hear about Him in song.
