Welcome To

BARAH MINISTRIES

a Christian Church

Rory Clark

Pastor-Teacher

Good Morning!

Welcome to Barah Ministries…a worldwide Christian Church based in Mesa, AZ…my name is Pastor Rory Clark.

The Lord Jesus Christ has magnificent plans for the future of His believers.  The apostles were pretty upset when Jesus told them of the events that were going to take place beginning the next day…which included His betrayal by Judas Iscariot, Peter’s denial that he even knew Christ, Satan’s attacks on all of them to “sift them like wheat,” and the Lord’s crucifixion.  He sought to calm them in John, Chapter 14, Verses 1 to 6…

JOH 14:1

“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God the Father, believe also in Me.”

JOH 14:2

“In My Father’s house are many dwelling places (mansions); if it were not so (but it is), I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.”

JOH 14:3

“If I go and prepare a place for you, and I do, I will come again and receive you to Myself (at the exit resurrection of the Church), that where I am, there you may be also.”

JOH 14:4

“And you know the way (to get) where I am going.”

The Lord was telling them that they had heard the gospel message and they knew they key to salvation.  Thomas, the doubting one, was always checking to be accurate…

JOH 14:5

Thomas said to Jesus, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do

we know the way?”

JOH 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I AM THE WAY, and I am the truth, and I am the resurrection life; no one comes to God the Father but through believing in Me.”

Welcome to our monthly celebration of the Lord’s Supper.  It’s the time when we remember our God, the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and His sacrifice on our behalf that gave us a “so great” salvation.  It’s a time for us to express our gratitude for all that He has done for us in the past…for all that He is doing for us now…for all He has already put in place for our future.

As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are not to take lightly that which was paid for at so high a cost…our sins were paid for by the shed blood of Christ…and it is a pleasure for us to honor the Son of the Living God daily, especially during our Lord’s Supper celebration, for making the ultimate sacrifice on our behalf.  In Job, Chapter 19, Verse 25, Job says…

JOB 19:25

“As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last He will take His stand on the earth.”

We have a bright future thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ…welcome to a place where you can learn about it.

OPENING PRAYER

Let us pray...

We’re grateful Heavenly Father for the privilege of studying the absolute truth...the Word of God…

Thank you for your UNconditional love for us, a love that is so strong that you allowed your only Son to die on a Cross so that we would have hope for all eternity…the hope of THE RESURRECTION LIFE.  Now, as we partake of the bread of life and as we drink the fruit of the vine, we pray that we do so in a manner that is pleasing and acceptable to You.

Help us to remember Christ and to be grateful for all the blessings He has given us…

We ask this through the power of God the Holy Spirit...in Christ’s name... Amen.

THE LORD’S SUPPER CELEBRATION

The Lord Jesus Christ Creates the Future

When we celebrate the Lord’s Supper we look back to the past…First Peter, Chapter 2, Verse 24…

1PE 2:24

…and the Lord Jesus Christ Himself bore our sins in His own body on the Cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.

As a result of the Cross we are dead to sin and dead to the law.

When we celebrate the Lord’s Supper we enjoy the present…Romans, Chapter 5, Verse 1…

ROM 5:1

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God the Father RIGHT NOW through our Lord Jesus Christ…

For believers in Christ, God has nothing against us.

Yet what impresses us most about our God is that He knows the future, because HE creates it…Isaiah, Chapter 46, Verse 10…

ISA 46:10

“I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’”

Today we celebrate our future…the one He created for us believers in eternity past, before the foundation of the world.  Let’s pause to take the offering.

We are sanctioned by God to charge for anything we provide so you can worship God.  By the way, help yourself to bibles, to music, to books, to pamphlets, to anything that would help you or a friend learn about God.

First Timothy, Chapter 5, Verses 17 and 18 say…

1TI 5:17

The elders (Pastors) who rule well are to be considered worthy of double honor (compensation), especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching.

1TI 5:18

For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle the ox while he is threshing,” and the Scripture says, “The laborer is worthy of his wages.”

God expects you to provide wages for your Pastor and for the ministry to the tune of a double portion!

THE LORD’S SUPPER CELEBRATION

Enjoying the Elements

Let’s enjoy the Lord’s Supper elements…

Following God’s request, we keep on celebrating CHRIST and His Cross on a regular basis…we eat to remember who He is…His PERSON…we drink to remember His WORK, the voluntary sacrifice He made at the Cross on our behalf as our substitute…and we are grateful for what God has done for us.  First Corinthians, Chapter 11, Verses 23 and 24 say…

1CO 11:23

For I, Paul received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus Christ on the night in which He was betrayed took bread…

1CO 11:24

and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is, and keeps on being My body, which is broken for you; keep on doing this celebration for the purpose of remembering Me.”

When we eat the bread during the Lord’s Supper Celebration, we remember THE PERSON of the Lord Jesus Christ.

When we drink the cup, we remember THE WORK of the Lord Jesus Christ.  First Corinthians, Chapter 11, Verses 25 and 26 say…

1CO 11:25

In the same way the Lord Jesus Christ took the cup after supper, representing His death on the Cross, saying, “This cup is a new testament forged with My blood; keep on doing this celebration, as often as you drink it, for the purpose of remembering Me.”

1CO 11:26

“For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.”

As you enjoy the bread and the cup, enjoy the memory of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as well. Now and always, as the Lord’s Supper song reminds us to keep on giving thanks.

THE LORD’S SUPPER CELEBRATION

The Lord Jesus Christ Creates the Future

The Lord’s Supper is rich in meaning. That is why it has been a prominent part of Christianity throughout the centuries. Sometimes it is allowed to become a lifeless ritual, done more out of habit than with meaning. When a ritual loses meaning, some people overreact by stopping the ritual entirely. The better response is to restore the meaning. That’s why it is helpful for us to review what we are symbolizing.

Today we celebrate the established and irrevocable fact that by going to the Cross, the Lord Jesus Christ was cementing our future…a very beautiful and very certain future.

One future event that we look forward to is the Wedding Feast of the Lamb.

Revelation, Chapter 19, Verses 7 to10…

REV 19:7

“Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to the Lord Jesus Christ, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.”

REV 19:8

“It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.”

REV 19:9

Then the angel said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’” And he said to me, “These are true words of God.”

REV 19:10

Then I fell at the angel’s feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Do not do that; I am a fellow servant of yours and your brethren who hold the testimony of Jesus…worship God instead. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

John saw and heard the heavenly multitudes praising God because the wedding feast of the Lamb—literally, the “marriage supper”—was about to begin. The concept of the marriage supper is better understood in light of the wedding customs in the time of Christ.

These wedding customs had three major parts. First, the parents of the bride and the bridegroom signed a marriage contract, and the parents of the bridegroom or the bridegroom himself would pay a dowry to the bride or her parents. This began what was called the betrothal period—what we would today call the engagement. This period was the one Joseph and Mary were in when she was found to be pregnant.  Matthew, Chapter 1, Verse 18…

MAT 1:18

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows…when His mother Mary had

been betrothed to Joseph, before they had sexual relations she was found to be pregnant with child by the agency of God the Holy Spirit.

Luke, Chapter 2, Verses 4 and 5...

LUK 2:4

Joseph also went up for the census from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David…

LUK 2:5

…in order to register along with Mary, who was engaged to him, and who was pregnant with a child.

The second step in the wedding process usually occurred a year later, when the bridegroom, accompanied by his male friends, went to the house of the bride at midnight, creating a torchlight parade through the streets. The bride would know in advance this was going to take place, and so she would be ready with her maidens, and they would all join the parade and end up at the bridegroom’s home. This custom is the basis of the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew, Chapter 25, Verses 1 to 13.

The third phase in the wedding process was the marriage supper itself, which might go on for days, as illustrated by the wedding at Cana in John, Chapter 2, Verses 1 and 2.

What John’s vision in Revelation, Chapter 19, Verses 7 to 10 pictures is the wedding feast of the Lamb, Jesus Christ, and His bride…the Church…in its third phase. The implication is that the first two phases have already taken place.

The first phase was completed on earth when each individual believer professed faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior. The dowry paid to the bridegroom’s parent (God the Father) by the groom, the Lord Jesus Christ, would be the blood of Christ shed on the Bride’s behalf. The Church on earth today, then, is “betrothed” to Christ, and, like the wise virgins in the parable, all believers should be watching and waiting for the appearance of the Bridegroom, His Second Coming.

The second phase symbolizes the exit resurrection of the Church, when Christ comes to claim His bride and to take her to God the Father’s house.

The marriage supper then follows as the third and final step. The Marriage Supper of the Lamb takes place in heaven between the exit resurrection of the Church and the second coming of Christ, while the tribulation period occurs on earth.

Attending the wedding feast will be not only the Church as the Bride of Christ, but others as well. The “others” include the Old Testament saints—they will not have been resurrected yet, but their souls and spirits will be in heaven with us. As the angel told John to write, in Revelation, Chapter 19, Verse 9…

REV 19:9

Then he said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’” And he said to me, “These are true words of God.”

The marriage supper of the Lamb is a glorious celebration for all who are in union with Christ!

We may not know everything the Lord had planned for our future, but we do know this…Jeremiah, Chapter 29, Verse 11…

JER 29:11

‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.’

We have a lot to look forward to.

When the Lord Jesus Christ

Promises Salvation, It’s a Guarantee!

ROM 1:16

For I am not ashamed of the gospel message, for the gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

PSA 62:1

My soul waits in silence for the Lord only; from Him is my salvation.

ACT 2:21

‘And it shall be that everyone who calls on the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved.’

2PE 3:9

The Lord Jesus Christ is not slow about His promise of salvation, as some accuse Him of, but is patient toward you (all mankind), not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance (a change of mind about a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ).
