Good Evening!

Welcome to the EIGHT annual Coeur d’Alene Bible Conference of Barah Ministries, a Christian Church that makes a difference worldwide courtesy of the internet…Barah Ministries…a Christian Church that makes a difference in remote locations like Coeur d’Alene, Idaho thanks to faithful congregation members like John and Monica Miller who are the hosts of this conference…Barah Ministries…a Christian Church that makes a difference in the Gilbert, Mesa, and Chandler, AZ communities by offering the gospel message and the Word of God free of charge to anyone who wants to be saved, and to anyone who wants to grow by means of grace in the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through the study of His Word.

My name is Pastor Rory Clark.

At Barah Ministries we worship the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ because Jesus Christ is God. We teach the Word of God from God’s perspective… not from man’s perspective.  I’m glad you’re here…and I appreciate…on behalf of the Lord…that you have chosen to participate in this lesson.  It’s my absolute pleasure to share the Word of God with you.

/TONIGHT’S BIBLE LESSON

Why Everyone Hates Christianity, Especially Christians\

Bertrand Russell is a British philosopher, writer, and Nobel Peace Prize winner who wrote an essay called, “Why I Am Not a Christian.”  In my early days as a Christian, I felt sorry for him. In recent times, I know exactly what he means.  So many people hate Christianity, especially Christians, and I am beginning to understand the reasons.  By the way, Russell’s essay is worth reading.  The thing that always amazes me about unbelievers is how much the really know about Christianity.

I am happy to admit that I am a Christian.  I am also a wino.  That is to say, I love wine.  My favorite wine is Moscato, a sweet wine made from the family of Muscat grapes.  If you are a legitimate wine connoisseur, you will chuckle, because real wine enthusiasts think of sweet wine connoisseurs, like me, as barbarians.  No matter. I love Moscato.

One day, I came home from a long trip, and I thought a glass of wine would take the edge off of the agitation my body had experienced from the journey.  I was simply following the biblical instruction of First Timothy, Chapter 5, Verse 23…

/FIRST TIMOTHY 5:23

No longer drink water exclusively…but use a little wine for the sake of your stomach and your frequent ailments.\

Amen?

I saw a wine glass on the counter.  It looked clean…so I grabbed it…filled it with Moscato…and took a sip. Instantly I spat the wine out of my mouth and into the sink.  It was disgusting.  I felt a burning sensation.  Unbeknownst to me, my roommate had filled the wine glass with chlorine bleach earlier in the week so that he could wash a few stains out of the sink.  Don’t ask me why he would choose a wine glass as a bleach receptacle… undoubtedly laziness.  The bleach had dried…the smell was gone…yet when the dried bleach mixed with the wine, there was a chemical reaction that made the wine toxic.  Yuk.  It was gross.

Christianity, which is a relationship with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, is like Moscato.  It is sweet. It is delicious.  It is pure.  Satan, the enemy of God, has created a counterfeit to Christianity called religion. It is like Moscato with bleach. It is a putrid and toxic poison…a disgusting distortion of a perfect life.  It should be vomited from your existence.  Yet most Christians embrace this life…and it is systematically destroying their enjoyment of life.  It is an unacceptable way to live.  In this lesson, I hope to unearth why so many hate Christianity, especially Christians, so that if this applies to you you’ll be able to get as far away from this counterfeit lifestyle as you can.

Let’s begin with one of my favorite songs.  Listening to it will give you a

chance to turn from the hustle and bustle of the world…instead fixing

your eyes on the pioneer and perfecter of our faith…the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  John, Chapter 4, Verses 7 to 10 say…

/JOHN 4:7

There came a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.”\

/JOHN 4:8

For the Lord’s disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.\

/JOHN 4:9

Therefore the Samaritan woman said to Jesus, “How is it that You…being a Jew…ask me for a drink since I am a Samaritan woman?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)\

Pure Christianity confounds people.  The things Christians do make no sense to the world.  Here’s June Murphy to sing about the Person us Christians are in a relationship with…His name is Jesus…the One who calls us to the superiority of the Christian Way of Life.  This is a song June wrote and produced…it is called COME SEE A MAN.

Why Everyone Hates Christianity, Especially Christians\

Thanks to my dear friends John and Monica Miller for making an evening like this possible for the eighth time.  John and Monica are valuable friends, and they keep on edifying me, both by being members of my flock and by spreading the gospel message and the Word of God through this wonderful conference and through their private conversations with the people in their periphery.  I love you two very much with every inch of my being.

A warm welcome, also, to those of you who are part of the Barah Ministries resident congregation who made the trip north to support your Pastor and to socialize with your non-resident friends…to Deacon Larry Collins and his wife Pat, to Deacon Denny Goodall, to June Murphy, to Denise Jones, and to Jason Knack, from our non-resident congregation in Michigan…thanks for being here.

Welcome to those members of the Barah Ministries non-resident congregation who live here in the Pacific Northwest, who enjoy our bible lessons on the internet, and who thirst for face-to-face time…especially Cindy and Harold Christensen and Janice West.  Welcome to those of you who have attended this conference in the past and are back for more spiritual nourishment.  Welcome to those of you who were invited here for the first time and who decided to attend.

If I spend a prolonged time on my “deathbed,” the one thing I will spend no time thinking about as I leave this life is whether or not I have been loved. I KNOW that I am loved.  God has surrounded me with people who love me unconditionally…and it is amazing when you figure it out that your life is happy to the degree that you spend all of your time, inasmuch as it is up to you, around people who genuinely love you.  This is a lesson I have learned too late…but better late than never.

Jesus Christ is God.  John, Chapter 1, Verse 14 says…

/JOHN 1:14

…the Word (the Lord…God the Son) became flesh (true humanity, Jesus Christ)…and lived among us…and we beheld His glory…glory as of the uniquely born one from God the Father…full of grace and full of truth.\

We call Him Lord because He is 100% God.  We call Him Jesus Christ because He is 100% true humanity just like you and me.  God the Son, the Lord, created you…He created the heavens…He created the earth…and He created everything in the universe.  John, Chapter 1, Verses 3 says…

/JOHN 1:3

All things came into being through the Lord (God the Son)…and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.\

The Lord, God the Son, gave you life.  Genesis, Chapter 2, Verse 7…

/GENESIS 2:7

Then the Lord, God (the Son) formed man from the dust of the ground…and breathed into his nostrils the breath of lives (neshima) and man became a living being.\

The Lord knows you by name.  There never has been a time when He didn’t know you by name.  There never will be a time when He doesn’t know you by name.

We call ourselves Barah Ministries.  The word barais a Hebrew word.  It means to speak something into existence from nothing…to make something from nothing…and that is what God does for all of His creatures.  This creature called Pastor Rory Clark has certainly been made something from nothing.

We attached an “h” to bara…because people were calling us BEAR-A ministries...that was a bit irritating. Now we just get the, “What the hell does Barah mean?” look from people.  And of course we respond, “It’s a cult…want some Kool-Aid?”

The Lord, God the Son, spoke the earth and the universe into existence from nothing.  Genesis, Chapter 1 Verse 1 says…

/GENESIS 1:1

In the beginning (not really a beginning), God (the Son) CREATED (Barah-ed) the heavens and the earth.\

If you always thought He took seven days to create the earth and the universe, let me assure you it didn’t take that long.  He spoke the earth and the universe into existence instantly. The earth and the universe were created perfect, because everything the Lord does is perfect.

Christianity is perfect.  Christianity is a relationship with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  It is not a religion.  Just as He did for angelic creatures, the Lord created a perfect life for human creatures.

If you are Christian, are you living the life of perfection that God created for you?

Let me answer for you.  You aren’t. You are living a life that you have allowed to be poisoned, like Moscato with bleach, through the insidious deceptions of God’s enemy, Satan.  You are so used to living this poisoned life that you think this life is normal, just as a person who bangs his head against the wall for an hour every day thinks headaches are normal.  This poisoned life is why everyone, especially Christians, hate Christianity. Christians have been deceived and have willingly accepted that this poison life is the life God planned for them. God planned exactly the opposite. He planned a life of perfection for you. If you aren’t living a life of perfection…if you don’t see yourself as perfect…which is what God makes you at the moment of salvation by imputing His absolute righteousness to you…then you have bought into a different life than the one God created for you.

If you are a Christian, God sees you as perfect.  Do you see yourself through His eyes, or through your own eyes?

Maybe you don’t know what I mean.  Did you know that diabetes can be reversed?  Did you know that presbyopia can be reversed?  Presbyopia is the gradual loss of the ability for your eyes to focus actively on nearby objects.

/PRESBYOPIA

The gradual loss of the ability for your eyes to focus actively on nearby objects.\

Reading glasses actually make the condition worse.  Reading glasses are poison.  Did you know that virtually any condition you have that you don’t want can be reversed?  Obesity. Drug addiction.  Alcoholism.  Sexual perversion.  None of these conditions are part of Christianity.  You allow the world to conform you.  The result is a life of resignation, where you come to accept that your life and its maladies are “just the way it is.”  You can hear the resignation in a Christian’s voice…“Everything happens for a reason” … “Well, I know God has a plan.”  Yes He does.  But what is God’s plan? You think diabetes is part of God’s plan for you?  Do you think obesity, drug addiction, alcoholism and sexual perversion are part of God’s plan for you?  He may allow these things as circumstances in your life, but it is not His intent that you suffer with these maladies.  It is His intent that you let Him conquer these maladies on your behalf.  Romans, Chapter 12, Verse 2…

/ROMANS 12:2a

And do not be conformed to this world (by Satan, by his cosmic system of thought, and by the flesh resident in you)…instead, keep on being transformed by God the Holy Spirit…through the renewing of your mind (by studying the Word of God)…\

/ROMANS 12:2b

…so that you may see clearly…through the testing of experience…what the will of God is…and the will of God is that which is GOOD and that which is acceptable and that which is perfect.\

Let’s take a five-minute break and when we come back we’ll look at some of the reasons why everyone hates Christianity, especially Christians.

Welcome back!

It is not God’s intention that we hate Christianity…James, Chapter 1, Verses 2 to 4 express God’s intent for His believers…

/JAMES 1:2

Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials…\

/JAMES 1:3

…knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.\

/JAMES 1:4

And let endurance have its perfect result…so that you may be perfect and complete…lacking in nothing.\

/TONIGHT’S BIBLE LESSON

Why Everyone Hates Christianity, Especially Christians\

God’s enemy, Satan, has influenced people to hate Christianity. Here are some things the bible has to say about Satan.  In John, Chapter 12, Verse 31 he is described this way…

/JOHN 12:31

Now judgment is upon this world…now the ruler (the prince) of this world (Satan) will be driven out by God (dethroned).\

Revelation, Chapter 12, Verse 9 says he is a deceiver…

/REVELATION 12:9a

And the great dragon was thrown down…the serpent of old…who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world…\

If you are in this world, and you are, then you are deceived by him. What are some of his deceptions? That he doesn’t exist…that God doesn’t exist… that this whole “God thing” is no big deal…that you have to work to please God…that you can earn your own salvation…the list is endless.

The Lord Jesus Christ describes Satan as a liar…John, Chapter 8, Verse 44…

/JOHN 8:44

You (Pharisees) are of your father the devil…and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning…and he does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie…he speaks from his own nature (it is his identity)…for Satan is a liar and he is the one whokeeps on fathering lies.\

Satan is out to destroy your life.  He wants to poison your life and to rob you of hope.  He wants you to quit on life.  First Peter, Chapter 5, Verse 8…

/FIRST PETER 5:8

Be of sober spirit…be on the alert…your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion…seeking someone to devour.\

For years I have been trying to get my head around a way to look at the Christian Way of Life and The Christian Way of Living.  Eureka…I think I have found it.

I like to think of God’s invitation to The Christian Way of Life, also known as salvation, as an invitation to a train ride through a hostile territory.  When we become believers in The Lord Jesus Christ, God the Holy Spirit places us into union with Christ.  Second Corinthians, Chapter 5, Verse 17 says…

/SECOND CORINTHIANS 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in union with Christ, and all believers in Christ are, there is a new creation…the old things passed away (they died)…behold, new creation things have come.\

Then, God the Holy Spirit puts the equivalent of an electronic fence collar around the believer’s neck.  The believer in Christ becomes a possession of God…and God is able to keep track of the believer wherever he goes.

All God wants His believers to do is to stay on the train.  On the train, the believer in Christ is not able to sin.  First John, Chapter 3, Verse 9 says…

/FIRST JOHN 3:9

No one who is a born again one from God the Father practices sin, because the Father’s seed (absolute righteousness) abides in him…and the believer in Christ cannot sin…because he is the born again one of God (the spiritual birth).\

So when a believer in Christ sins, and often he does, what is doing the sinning?  It is the flesh, not the believer!  Romans, Chapter 7, Verse 17…

/ROMANS 7:17

So now, no longer am I (the new creation…the believer in Christ) the one sinning, but sin which dwells in me (the flesh) is doing the sinning.\

One of the reasons everyone hates Christianity, especially Christians, is because they can’t get this one thing straight…you, believers in Christ, are NOT your flesh.  The flesh has no power over you except the power you give it.

By the way, if you were wondering, the train is called The Love Train.  It is the Christian Way of Living.  On The Love Train, God the Holy Spirit teaches believers the Christian Way of Living, also know as SANCTIFICATION.

All God wants His believers to do is to stay on the train.  On the train, the believer in Christ learns the Word of God.  They are equipped to handle any situation, any time.  Well…the train makes stops to be reloaded with supplies, and believers in Christ are encouraged to stay on the train.  Most don’t.  They get off the train and venture into the world…they walk into hostile territory, convinced they are smarter and more powerful than Satan, and the world, and the flesh.  They tune their souls to Satan’s propaganda station…WCON…the CON network…and they listen to Satan’s teachings.  Matthew, Chapter 24, Verse 24…

/MATTHEW 24:24

For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect (believers in Christ).\

God has given Satan a remote control to the believer’s electric fence collar. When the believer sins, Satan send a shock wave to the collar.  It is the equivalent of being tasered.  It is debilitating.  The smart believer goes back to the train.  Most believers come to believe that being tasered is normal, and they adopt this counterfeit, painful lifestyle.

One of the many brilliant things about Satan’s plan for mankind is that he blames God for everything that happens to believers, even though he is behind most of the pain and misfortune.  He tempts us to sin, we get hurt, and he blames God.  He convinces believers that the pain is “just God’s plan” for them. The underlying message that Satan implants in believers is that God is unfair and unloving.  Most believers agree with those thoughts, even if they won’t say them out loud.

You’ve heard believer in Christ who says, “I’m mad at God.”  They are the victims of a Satanic deception. How can you be mad at perfection? You didn’t get the wrong parents. You didn’t get the wrong family. You don’t have the wrong job.  You don’t have the wrong bank balance.  You don’t have the wrong spouse.  Some of these choices YOU made.  And don’t be mad about your mistakes.  They happen.  There are many things you choose which give you no visibility into the future.

Satan adds bleach to the Moscato…he poisons the Christian Way of Living…he discourages believers so much that we begin to believe we are desperate and powerless and hopeless.  We begin to believe that God wants us to live a life frustrated with defeats…an impotent and ineffective life…the right and wrong life…filled with attempts to stop sinning and attempts to follow the law…fruitlessness at its finest.

We become “Closet Christians” … we don’t want to talk to anyone about Christ or about Christianity.  We become “Cafeteria Christians” …  we pick and choose what we want to believe instead of learning and believing the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.  We become “Carnal Christians” … we are stuck in a state of immaturity because we spend too much of our time off of the train.  We come to see Christianity as a life of suppression and contraction and scarcity and misery.  What shame.

Let’s take a five-minute break and we’ll decide what we are going to do about this counterfeit life we have adopted.

Why Everyone Hates Christianity, Especially Christians\

God doesn’t hate Christians or Christianity.  In fact, despite the poison Satan has inflicted on Christians and Christianity, God is quite pleased with His creatures.  He is the antidote for Satan’s poison.  Psalm 104, Verse 31…

/PSALM 104:31

Let the glory of the Lord endure forever…let the Lord be glad in His handiwork…\

God thinks you are beautiful, and here is June Murphy to sing about it in her song I AM BEAUTIFUL.

Why Everyone Hates Christianity, Especially Christians\

So what are we to do face-to-face with these things?  What can we do to keep us from hating Christianity? Stay on The Love Train!

When we stay on The Love Trainwe quench our thirst with the sweetness of Moscato.  In spite of the fact that we are in Satan’s kingdom, we remember that we are not of Satan’s kingdom.  Romans, Chapter 8, Verse 9…

/ROMANS 8:9

However, you believers in Christ are not in the flesh…but you believers in Christ are in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you (and of course it does). But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, and of course some don’t, that one does not belong to Him.\

God does not want us to be conformed.  Romans, Chapter 6, Verse 13…

/ROMANS 6:13

…and do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness…but present yourselves to God as those spiritually alive from the spiritually dead…and present your members as instruments of righteousness to God.\

Stop drinking the poison Moscato!  When you stay on The Love Train you are under the tutelage and direction of God the Holy Spirit. He transforms us so that we can enjoy living the resurrection life.  Ephesians, Chapter 2, Verse 10…

/EPHESIANS 2:10

For we believers in Christ are God the Father’s workmanship…created in union with Christ Jesus for good works…which God the Father prepared beforehand (in eternity past) so that we would walk in them.\

Only when God sends us off the train and into the world are we are ready to go.

Through instruction by the Holy Spirit of God, we believers in Christ become zealous to serve the Lord…Second Timothy, Chapter 2, Verse 15…

/SECOND TIMOTHY 2:15

Be ambitious to present yourself approved to God the Father as a workman who does not need to be ashamed…accurately handling the word of truth.\

When God sends us off the train and into the world, we do our work like we are a stealth bomber…First Thessalonians, Chapter 4, Verse 11…

/FIRST THESSALONIANS 4:11

…make it your ambition to lead a quiet life and to attend to your own business and to work with your hands…\

We’re like Navy Seals…we do our work and we get back on the train. Our motivation is revealed in Second Corinthians, Chapter 5, Verse 9…

/SECOND CORINTHIANS 5:9

Therefore we believers in Christ also have as our ambition…whether at home (here in our earthly journey) or absent (from the body and in heaven)…to be pleasing to Him.\

It is not pleasing our God that we would live a poisoned existence. It is not pleasing to our God that we would be conformed in our thinking.  It is not pleasing to our God that we would listen to false teachers. It is not pleasing to our God that we would live in the delusion of denial.  It is not pleasing to our God when we are untrusting because of being burned in the world.  It is not pleasing to our God for us to drink Moscato with bleach.

It our God’s desire that we would live a life of freedom, not of slavery… enjoying the highest and best that He has in store for us.

Why does everyone hate Christianity, especially Christians? It’s not Christianity they hate. It’s Satan’s lie they hate. Hopefully, this shed light on the difference.  A Pastor’s job is to encourage you and to equip you to keep your butts on the train.

/THE LORD’S SUPPER CELEBRATION

Bring Christ to Remembrance\

Well at the request of the resident congregation members, it is our desire to share in The Lord’s Supper Celebration with our guests and with our non-resident congregation members. The Lord’s Supper Celebration is the most intimate expression of love in The Christian Way of Living.  Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ demonstrates His desire for a deep, intimate and personal relationship with His believers by sharing His body and His blood with us.  First Corinthians, Chapter 11, Verse 26 says…

/FIRST CORINTHIANS 11:26

For as often as you eat this bread (His body) and drink this cup (His blood) as part of the Lord’s Supper Celebration…you proclaim as a reality and you announce the significance of the Lord Jesus Christ’s death on the Cross… and His resurrection from the dead…until He comes again at the second coming.\

During The Lord’s Supper Celebration, the Lord Jesus Christ wants His believers to look back to the reality of His death on a Cross for us…to remember that He has been resurrected from the dead…and to look to forward with absolute confidence that He will come again.  Romans, Chapter 5, Verse 8…

/ROMANS 5:8

But God the Father demonstrates His own unconditional love toward all mankind, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died (a substitutionary sacrificial death) for us.\

First Peter, Chapter 2, Verse 24…

/FIRST PETER 2:24

…and the Lord Jesus Christ Himself bore our sins in His own body on the Cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness…for by His wounds you were healed.\

First Corinthians, Chapter 15, Verse 20…

/FIRST CORINTHIANS 15:20

But now Christ has been raised from the dead…the first fruits of those who are asleep.\

/THE LORD’S SUPPER CELEBRATION

Enjoying the Elements\

Obeying God’s command, we keep on celebrating CHRIST and His Cross on a regular basis…we eat to remember who He is as a PERSON…we drink to remember His WORK on the Cross…the voluntary sacrifice He made at on our behalf as our sin substitute.  We are grateful for what God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ have done for us. Matthew, Chapter 26, Verses 26 to 28…

/MATTHEW 26:26

While they were eating, Jesus took some bread, and after a blessing, He broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take…eat…this is My body (which is being broken for you).”\

/MATTHEW 26:27

And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you…”\

/MATTHEW 26:28

“…for this is My blood…the blood of a new covenant….blood poured out for many for the forgiveness of their sins.”\

As you enjoy the bread and the cup, enjoy the memory of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as well. Now and always, let us keep on giving thanks that we are loved unconditionally and accepted fully by a Lord who is always there for us…the One on whom we can depend…and let’s keep on being transformed by His life, His death, His resurrection and His Word… and let’s enjoy His unconditional love, His forgiveness, and His grace.

I STAND AMAZED AT GRACE

June Murphy\

/GOD WANTS YOU!

Make the Most Important Decision of Your Life\

What is going to happen to you when you close your eyes in this life? How can you get to heaven?

Many people believe they will get to heaven by being a good person.  In fact, most people think they are, as they say, “Basically good people.”  For some, being good means not being bad. Here’s what I have heard many people say over the years…“I haven’t murdered anyone. I don’t steal. I don’t curse. I don’t lie. I’m not a drug addict.  My conscience is clear because I’m not nearly as bad as the people I read about in the newspapers or the ones I see on television.  I’m just like everyone else, and I know everybody can’t be going to hell.”

And then these people open the bible and it obliterates their delusion… Romans, Chapter 3, Verse 23…

/ROMANS 3:23

…for all creatures have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…\

Romans, Chapter 3, Verse 10…

/ROMANS 3:10

…as it is written “There is no creature who is righteous, not even one…”\

First Corinthians, Chapter 15, Verse 22…

/FIRST CORINTHIANS 15:22a

For all in union with Adam at physical birth (and that is every human who comes to earth) are set to die the second death in the Lake of Fire…\

The good news is that the Lord has an interesting attitude toward His creatures…Second Peter, Chapter 3, Verse 9…

/SECOND PETER 3:9

The Lord is not slow about His promise of salvation, as some accuse Him of, but instead He is patient toward you unbelievers…not wishing for any of you to perish (in the Lake of Fire) but for all of you to come to repentance (a change of mind about having a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ).\

The apostle John makes clear the function of the bible…John, Chapter 20, Verses 30 and 31…

/JOHN 20:30

Therefore many other signs Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book (the bible)…\

/JOHN 20:31

…but these things written here have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ (the Messiah)…the Son of God (in human form)… and that by believing in Him you may have the resurrection life in Hisname.\

How can you get to heaven?  Right where you sit, RIGHT NOW, you can tell God the Father that you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and that is the moment of eternal life for you. Acts, Chapter 16, Verse 31…

/ACTS 16:31

“Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and everyone in your household who also believes.”\

Believing in Jesus Christ is your acknowledgement that you can’t do a thing to get to heaven on your own.   Romans, Chapter 11, Verse 6 says…

/ROMANS 11:6

But if salvation is by grace, and of course it is, it is no longer on the basis of works…otherwise grace is no longer grace.\

God’s grace makes your salvation a free gift to you…if you have to work for a gift then the work makes you deserve the gift.  In salvation, there is no way for you to impress God enough that He would allow you to save yourself.  It’s very wise to let God save you, because once God does something He never changes His mind.  Heed the warning in John, Chapter 3, Verse 36…

/JOHN 3:36

“He who believes in the Son has the resurrection life right at that moment… but he who does not obey the command to believe in the Son will not see the resurrection life…instead the wrath of God (the Lake of Fire) abides on him.”\

The apostle Peter reminds us of the words of Old Testament prophet Joel in Acts, Chapter 2, Verse 21…

/ACTS 2:21

‘And it shall be that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved.’\
