Romans 1: Throw Yourself on the Mercy of the Court
For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we (believers in Christ) eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ…
…who will transform the body of our humble state (our current physical body) into conformity with the body of His glory (into a resurrection body), by the exertion of the power (omnipotence) that He (the Lord Jesus Christ) has even (the power) to subject all things to Himself.
For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD (so well), THAT HE WILL (be qualified) INSTRUCT HIM? (Of course no one!) But we (believers in Christ) have the mind of Christ (the written Word…the bible).
…His (the Lord Jesus Christ’s) divine power has granted to us (believers in Christ) everything pertaining to (Christian Way of) life and (to) godliness (the Christian Way of Living), through the true knowledge of Him (the Lord Jesus Christ) who called us (believers in Christ by His own Sovereign choice and) by His own glory and excellence.
For by these (Christ’s glory and goodness) He has granted to us (believers in Christ) His precious and magnificent promises (a public announcement in writing), so that by them (these promises fulfilled) you may become partakers of the divine (endowment…the endowment of His glorious) nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by (means of) lust (evil desires).
Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding.// In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
We have come to know and (we) have believed the (unconditional) love which God has for us. God is (unconditional) love, and the one who abides in (unconditional) love abides in God (actively sharing His life), and God abides in him (actively sharing in your life).
INDICTMENT
A formal accusation which initiates a criminal case against someone.
…as it is written, “THERE IS NONE (not one creature who is) RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE…”
…for all (creatures) have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…
IN GOD’S LAW
You are guilty as charged and there is no way to talk yourself out of the indictment.
ARRAIGN
To call into question…to find fault…especially with respect to a virtue, like a law…a critical examination…to bring before a court to answer an indictment.
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that (faith and grace and deliverance is) not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;//not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
For in it (the gospel message) the righteousness of God is revealed from faith (in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation) to faith (in the Lord for all things); as it is written, “BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH (alone in the Lord Jesus Christ alone for eternal life).”
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and (against) unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness…
…because that which is known about God is evident within them (those practicing ungodliness and unrighteousness); for God made it (knowledge of God) evident to them.
For since the creation of the world His (the Lord Jesus Christ’s) invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature (divinity), have been clearly seen (by all mankind), being understood through what has been made (the entire created universe), so that they (all mankind, especially those practicing ungodliness and unrighteousness) are without excuse (in the matter of knowing God).
For even though they (those practicing ungodliness and unrighteousness) knew God, they (those practicing ungodliness and unrighteousness) did not honor Him as God or give (Him) thanks, but (instead) they (those practicing ungodliness and unrighteousness) became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Professing to be wise, they (those practicing ungodliness and unrighteousness) became fools…
…and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.
The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds; There is no one who does good.
The Lord has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, (to see if there are any) who seek after God.
They have ALL turned aside, together they have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.
Then I (John, the writer of the book of Revelation) saw a great white throne and Him (the Lord Jesus Christ) who sat upon it, from whose presence (unbelievers on) earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them (to live).
And I saw the dead (unbelievers), the great (the famous) and the small (not famous), standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life (a record of all those who are saved); and the dead (unbelievers) were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds (ungodliness and unrighteousness).

IN GOD’S LAW
You are guilty as charged and there is no way to talk yourself out of the indictment.
And the sea gave up the dead (unbelievers) which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead (unbelievers) which were in them; and they (unbelievers) were judged, every one of them according to their deeds (ungodliness and unrighteousness).
Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire (the first death is spiritual death).
And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
Then I (John, the writer of the book of Revelation) saw a (totally) new heaven and a new earth (not renovated ones…a dwelling place for saints); for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.
And I saw the holy city, (the) new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as (if she were) a bride adorned for her husband.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God (the Lord Jesus Christ) is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them…”
“…and He (the Lord Jesus Christ) will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”
And He (the Lord Jesus Christ) who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.”
Then He (the Lord Jesus Christ) said to me, “It is done. I (the Lord Jesus Christ) am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost.”
…knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers…
…but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.
For we also once were foolish ourselves (while unbelievers), disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.
But when the kindness of God our Savior (the Lord Jesus Christ) and His (unconditional) love for mankind appeared…
He (God the Father) saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in (self)-righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and (through) renewing by the (baptism of God the) Holy Spirit…
…whom He (God the Father) poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior…
…so that being justified by His (God the Father’s) grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Therefore, we (believers in Christ) are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us (and He is); we beg you (unbelievers) on behalf of (the Lord Jesus) Christ, be reconciled to God.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. // In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.
The Lord is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed
Therefore the Lord longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; How blessed are all those who long for Him.
