Studying the Bible is one of the best gifts you give yourself every day.
TODAY’S BIBLE LESSON
The Lord Jesus Christ asks, “Can I Get a Witness?”
LESSON INTRODUCTION
You’ve probably heard the Christmas song Hark the Herald Angels Sing written by Charles Wesley, a principal leader of the Methodist movement. But maybe you never stopped to think about the meaning of the words HARK and HERALD.
“Hark” is…
HARK
An order to pay attention and to listen carefully.
It’s the equivalent of saying, “Hey you!”
A “herald” is…
HERALD
An official messenger bringing news.
Well HARK! Because in today’s lesson you’ll learn about the Lord Jesus Christ’s HERALD, John the Baptist. The Lord Jesus Christ did not sneak up on the world. John the Baptist was His forerunner, and John announced loudly that the Lord Jesus Christ is in active ministry at the beginning of the final three years of the Lord’s life on earth. Let’s see what John the Baptist has to say about our Lord.
OPENING SONG INTRODUCTION
Let’s hear some music! John the Baptist’s main message is captured in this Godspell song…PREPARE YE THE WAY OF THE LORD. Are you ready for His return? Let’s enjoy this simple song with a powerful message.

OPENING PRAYER
Let us pray...
We’re grateful to You Heavenly Father for providing us with the absolute truth of the Word of God…
Father, thank you for the kind warning…prepare ye the way of the Lord…You give us one hundred and sixty eight hours every week…twenty-four hours a day seven times…and we use the time…yet if we’re being honest, we devote little of that time to the most important part of our lives…the spiritual life…the part of our lives that gives us an eternal perspective…instead we busy ourselves with meaninglessness, wasting an endless number of chances to get to know You…yet You still love us unconditionally…You still provide everything we need…and You still give us chance after chance in the face of our ingratitude to get to know You…
…thank you for The Word…both for The Word who is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and for the Word that is His exact thinking communicated in the Bible… …and thank you for God the Holy Spirit who makes the Lord’s thinking clear to us, leading us into all the truth…
…Father help us to learn the truth…show us how to develop a lifestyle of practicing the truth…and enable us to use the truth to make a difference in the world one person at a time, just as You would want us to…and through today’s lesson, help us to learn the importance of evangelism, doing our part to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to the hearers You provide…
…we ask these things through the power of God the Holy Spirit…in Christ’s name...Amen.
TODAY’S BIBLE LESSON
The Lord Jesus Christ asks, “Can I Get a Witness?”
LESSON PART ONE
We continue our study of the gospel of the apostle John in chapter one. John has a different writing style than the apostle Paul, the one who wrote about half of the New Testament. So as we study the gospel of John we need to make a mental adjustment to the different style John brings to writing Biblical truth.
In John, Chapter 1 he is communicating seven things. Here’s a slight modification of the subject matter breakdown you have seen in a previous lesson. I encourage you to read chapter one on your own, inspecting the subject matter, and reflecting on the messages the apostle John prepared for us in this chapter. John teaches us…
SUBJECT MATTER BREAKDOWN OF JOHN CHAPTER 1
About “The Word”
John 1:1 to John 1:3 and John 1:14

John 1:6 to 1:8…John 1:15…John 1:19 to 1:34
SUBJECT MATTER BREAKDOWN OF JOHN CHAPTER 1
About Jesus…The Uniquely Born One
John 1:16-18
SUBJECT MATTER BREAKDOWN OF JOHN CHAPTER 1
About the Gathering of Disciples
John 1:35 to 1:51
In a previous lesson we studied about THE WORD. We learned that THE WORD is the Lord…God the Son. At the request of God the Father, the Lord saw our sin problem and agreed to leave heaven, to come to earth, and to pay the debt of our sin in His own body on the Cross. John, Chapter 1, Verse 14…
JOHN 1:14
And the Word (the Lord…God the Son) became flesh (as Jesus…the Christ…the Messiah) … and He lived among us…and we apostles saw His glory with our own eyes…glory as of the only begotten One from the source…God the Father…full of grace and full of truth.
We learned about THE LIFE, an offer to all mankind to have the resurrection life…eternal life…with no work requirement and no form of payment necessary. If you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, He has gifted you with THE LIFE from the moment of your salvation, and you can rest assured that you are saved once and for all time. You will spend all eternity in heaven when you close your eyes in this life. In John, Chapter 10, Verse 28, the Lord says…
JOHN 10:28
“…I (the Lord Jesus Christ) give eternal life to believers in Christ, and they will never perish…and no one will snatch them out of My hand.”
We learned about THE LIGHT. Satan, the enemy of God is the ruler of this world, and he rules planet earth, the kingdom of darkness and death. The Lord came to shine His Light in this dark place so that we would not be blind to the opportunity of salvation. There are many who prefer the darkness, and of course this is their prerogative. Satan is all too happy to help them. Second Corinthians, Chapter 4, Verse 4 says…
SECOND CORINTHIANS 4:4
…the god of this world (Satan) has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light and the glory of the gospel of Jesus Christ…
When the Lord decided to come to the earth to save us, He did not sneak up on the world. In many places and from many mouths came the Old Testament prediction that a Messiah was coming to save people from their sins. The prediction came true.
To announce the fulfillment of the prediction, the Lord provided a man by the name of John the Baptist who was a herald, an official messenger announcing the appearance of the Savior. To this news, most would say, “Yeah right! God is here on earth in the form of a man. I doubt it!” Satan sponsors this doubt.
Undaunted by doubt, John the Baptist announces undeniable historical facts: Jesus Christ is God, Jesus came to save all mankind from sin, and ANYONE can benefit by choice from His Person and His work.
You may have heard of Robert Ripley in your lifetime. He founded a franchise which surfaced bizarre events so strange and unusual that people questioned their claims. After each bizarre story, Ripley would say, “Believe it or not.” John the Baptist says the same thing. “Jesus is the Son of God. Believe it or not!”
In the first chapter of the gospel of John, the apostle considered it important to introduce John the Baptist. So in this lesson we’ll get to know him. Let’s review today’s passage beginning with John, Chapter 1, Verses 6 to 8…
JOHN 1:6
There came a man sent from God, whose name was John.
JOHN 1:7
He came as a witness, to testify about the Light, so that all might believe through him.
JOHN 1:8
He was not the Light, but he came to testify about the Light.
John, Chapter 1, Verse 15…
JOHN 1:15
John testified about Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.’”
John, Chapter 1, Verses 19 to 34…
JOHN 1:19
This is the testimony of John the Baptist, when the Jews sent to him priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”
JOHN 1:20
And he confessed and did not deny, but confessed, “I am not the Christ.”
JOHN 1:21
They asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” And he said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” And he answered, “No.”
JOHN 1:22
Then they said to him, “Who are you, so that we may give an answer to those who sent us? What do you say about yourself?”
JOHN 1:23
He said, “I am a voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord,’ as Isaiah the prophet said.”
JOHN 1:24
Now they had been sent from the Pharisees.
JOHN 1:25
They asked him, and said to him, “Why then are you baptizing, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”
JOHN 1:26
John answered them saying, “I baptize in water, but among you stands One whom you do not know.”
JOHN 1:27
“It is He who comes after me, the thong of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie.”
JOHN 1:28
These things took place in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
JOHN 1:29
The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”
JOHN 1:30
“This is He on behalf of whom I said, ‘After me comes a Man who has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.’”
JOHN 1:31
“I did not recognize Him, but so that He might be manifested to Israel, I came baptizing in water.”
JOHN 1:32
John testified saying, “I have seen the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and He remained upon Him.”
JOHN 1:33
“I did not recognize Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, ‘He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the One who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.’”
JOHN 1:34
“I myself have seen, and have testified that this is the Son of God.”
Here’s the way the Lord described John the Baptist in Matthew, Chapter 11, Verse 11…
MATTHEW 11:11a
Truly I (the Lord Jesus Christ) say to you, among those born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptist!
John the Baptist’s mother was Elizabeth. She was a descendant of Aaron and the wife of the temple priest Zechariah. Luke, Chapter 1, Verses 5 to 17…
LUKE 1:5
In the days of Herod, king of Judea, there was a priest named Zacharias, of the division of Abijah, and he had a wife from the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.
LUKE 1:6
They were both righteous in the sight of God (meaning they were believers in Christ)…walking blamelessly (because of the absolute righteousness imputed by God) in all the commandments and requirements of the Lord.
LUKE 1:7
But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both advanced in years.
LUKE 1:8
Now it happened that while he was performing his priestly service before God in the appointed order of his division…
LUKE 1:9
…according to the custom of the priestly office, he was chosen by lot to enter the temple of the Lord and burn incense.
LUKE 1:10
And the whole multitude of the people were in prayer outside at the hour of the incense offering.
LUKE 1:11
And an angel of the Lord appeared to Zacharias, standing to the right of the altar of incense.
LUKE 1:12
Zacharias was troubled when he saw the angel, and fear gripped him.
LUKE 1:13
But the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your petition has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you will give him the name John.”
LUKE 1:14
“You will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth.”
LUKE 1:15
“For he will be great in the sight of the Lord…and he will drink no wine or liquor…and he will be filled with God the Holy Spirit while yet in his mother’s womb.”
LUKE 1:16
“And he will turn many of the sons of Israel back to the Lord their God”.
LUKE 1:17
“It is he who will go as a forerunner before the Lord in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers back to the children, and to turn the disobedient to the attitude of the righteous, so as to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
What was John the Baptist’s life purpose?
He was selected by God to introduce the Son of God and the Son of Man to the world. He was a legal witness who gave testimony of the existence of God and the presence of God on the earth. The Lord asks all of us. Christian, “Can I get a witness?” He wants us to do the same.
When we return from the break, we’ll request an offering and then we’ll learn more about John the Baptist as we examine today’s passage of study.

TODAY’S BIBLE LESSON
The Lord Jesus Christ asks, “Can I Get a Witness?”
OFFERING INTRODUCTION
Christians are to follow the Lord’s example in everything, especially in giving. John, Chapter 3, Verse 16 says…
JOHN 3:16
“God the Father loved the world unconditionally…and He loved the world so much…that He GAVE His uniquely born Son…
What are you willing to give to the God who gave His Son’s life to save you?
Giving is a form of worship. Giving expresses your faith in God. Giving communicates your gratitude to God for all He does for you.
What’s the best time for Christians to give? There must never be a time when we don’t give. Everything we have comes from God. When we give, we are simply redirecting the resources God has given us to His purposes. Don’t worry about the amount you give. God will return it to you abundantly. Let your giving rival God’s giving and watch what flows to your life. Give something…give anything…give now…and keep on giving.
Let’s listen to Deacon Denny Goodall present one of his always thoughtful and always inspiring offering messages.

The Lord Jesus Christ asks, “Can I Get a Witness?”
LESSON PART TWO
Welcome back!
As we continue our study of today’s passage from the gospel of John, Chapter 1 let’s see what there is to learn as we study it verse-by-verse. John, Chapter 1, Verses 6 to 8…
JOHN 1:6
There came a man who was sent from God the Father, whose name was John the Baptist.
JOHN 1:7
John the Baptist came as a witness, to testify about the Light, so that all might believe in the Light through him.
JOHN 1:8
John the Baptist himself was not the Light, but he came only to testify about the Light.
The apostle John’s thesis about John the Baptist…
1
John the Baptist was sent by God the Father
2
John the Baptist was not the Light
3
John the Baptist came to testify about the Light
Jesus Christ is God and John the Baptist was His forerunner. What is a forerunner?
FORERUNNER
A person that comes before another, paving the way for his impending arrival.
John the Baptist’s message was simple…prepare ye the way of the Lord.
What we may discover as Christians as we learn about John the Baptist is that all of us Christians are forerunners. Our job is to announce the existence of and the soon to be coming again presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to everyone in our periphery. The Lord asks all of us, “Can I get a witness?”
John the Baptist wanted everyone, as a result of his witness and testimony, to BELIEVE in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. Here’s how John the Baptist’s work is described in Mark, Chapter 1, Verses 4 to 8…
MARK 1:4
John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.
MARK 1:5
And all the country of Judea and all the people of Jerusalem were going out to John the Baptist…and they were being baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins.
MARK 1:6
John the Baptist was clothed with camel’s hair and wore a leather belt around his waist, and his diet was locusts and wild honey.
MARK 1:7
And John the Baptist was preaching, saying, “After me One is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to stoop down and untie the thong of His sandals.”
MARK 1:8
“I baptized you with water…but He will baptize you with God the Holy Spirit.”
John the Baptist had charisma as a gift from God. People gravitated to him. He used his God-given talent for God’s purposes. People were flocking to the wilderness to hear his witness. What is a witness?
WITNESS
Someone who sees an event firsthand or provides verbal evidence about an event.
John’s witness was to speak to others about Jesus Christ. What is a testimony?
TESTIMONY
A formal spoken or written statement provided as evidence of a fact.
John’s testimony announced the coming of the Light for all the world to see. John, Chapter 1, Verse 15…
JOHN 1:15
John testified about Jesus and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.’”
Christianity was spread throughout the world by witness and testimony.
John the Baptist’s ability to attract people was disturbing to the Pharisees who sent delegates to have John checked out. John, Chapter 1, Verses 19 to 34…
JOHN 1:19
This is the testimony of John the Baptist, when the Jews sent to him priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”
JOHN 1:20
And John the Baptist confessed and did not deny, “I am not the Christ.”
JOHN 1:21
They asked John the Baptist, “What then? Are you Elijah?” And he said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” And John the Baptist answered, “No.”
JOHN 1:22
Then they said to John the Baptist, “Who are you, so that we may give an answer to those who sent us? What do you say about yourself?”
JOHN 1:23
John the Baptist said, “I am a voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord,’ as Isaiah the prophet said.”
If these men were students of the Old Testament, they should have known John the Baptist.
JOHN 1:24
Now the priests and Levites had been sent from the Pharisees.
JOHN 1:25
They asked him, “Why then are you baptizing, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”
JOHN 1:26
John the Baptist answered them saying, “I baptize in water, but among you stands One whom you do not know.”
JOHN 1:27
“It is He who comes after me, the thong of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie.”
JOHN 1:28
These things took place in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
People get baptized in the Jordan to this very day.
JOHN 1:29
The next day John the Baptist saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”
JOHN 1:30
“This is He on behalf of whom I said, ‘After me comes a Man who has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me.’”
JOHN 1:31
“I did not recognize Him, but so that He might be manifested to Israel, I came baptizing in water.”
JOHN 1:32
John the Baptist testified saying, “I have seen God the Holy Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven, and God the Holy Spirit remained upon Jesus.”
JOHN 1:33
“I did not recognize Him, but God the Father who sent me to baptize in water said
to me, ‘He upon whom you see God the Holy Spirit descending (as a dove) and
remaining upon Him, this is the One who baptizes with the baptism of the Spirit.’”
John the Baptist said, finally…
JOHN 1:34
“I myself have witnessed and testify that this is the Son of God.”
What was the impact of John the Baptist’s witness and testimony? He led many to Christ! He had much impact as we learned in the earlier passage from Mark, Chapter 1.
For Christians today, John the Baptist gave us an example of how to be a witness.
Our job as Christians is to be a witness for the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord says to his apostles in John, Chapter 15, Verse 16…
JOHN 15:16
You did not choose Me but I (the Lord Jesus Christ) chose you, and I appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of God the Father in My name He may give to you.
The fruit is bringing members to the Lord’s team by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.
How can we become effective witnesses for Christ? We tell others what we have seen and we testify to what we have experienced. When we witness and give testimony, we realize we are not the Light…just as John the Baptist realized. We simply want our evangelism to lead a person to BELIEVE in the Lord. In Romans, Chapter 1, Verse 16 the apostle Paul gives us encouragement when he says…
ROMANS 1:16
I (Paul) am not ashamed of the gospel of God the Father…for the gospel of God the Father is the power of God the Father for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first chronologically…and also to the Greek.
We should follow Paul’s example. The Lord asks, “Can I get a witness?” Are you ready every moment to be a witness for Christ? If so, you’ll make the Lord and John the Baptist proud.
THE GOSPEL MESSAGE
The Good News of Jesus Christ’s Salvation Offer to the Human Race
The final ten minutes of this lesson could be the ten most important minutes of your life. You’ll be introduced to the good news concerning how you can spend all eternity in heaven when you close your eyes in this life. We want you to know that…
GOD WANTS YOU!
He Wants You Make the Most Important Decision of Your Life
…and what He wants for you is that you make the most important decision of your life.
The Lord Jesus Christ created you! He loves you unconditionally. He forgives you for every sin you’ll ever commit. He offers you His grace when you make mistakes. He has always had you in His mind for all eternity. He knows your name. The Lord wants the best for you. Have you ever had a human being love you this way?
Well, if you don't yet have a relationship with the Lord and Jesus Christ, He
considers you to be a SPIRITUALLY DEAD sinner who needs a Savior. Romans, Chapter 3, Verse 23 says…
ROMANS 3:23
…all creatures have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…
Romans, Chapter 3, Verse 10 says…
ROMANS 3:10
…it is written, “There is no creature who is righteous…not even one…”
Your condition at physical birth IS NOT YOUR FAULT, but it is your circumstance.
Spiritual death, caused by sin, is a barrier between us and God. Spiritual death is the first death. Eternity in the Lake of Fire is the second death, and it’s your eternal fate if you close your eyes in this life as an unbeliever. You do not want the second death! Revelation, Chapter 20, Verse 14…
REVELATION 20:14
Then death and Hades were thrown into the Lake of Fire. This is the second death, the Lake of Fire.
First Corinthians, Chapter 15, Verse 22 says…
FIRST CORINTHIANS 15:22
…all in union with Adam at physical birth (and that is every human being) are set to die the second death in the Lake of Fire…but all who are in union with Christ will be made spiritually alive by God.
God wants you to have spiritual life. The Lord provides you with the Bible to illuminate the SPIRITUAL LIFE, which is your path to heaven. John, Chapter 20, Verse 31 says…
JOHN 20:31
…these things written in the Bible have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ…(He is the Messiah…He is God the Son…the Lord…who took on human form as Jesus…the Christ) … and that by believing in Him you may have the resurrection life (eternal life) in His name.
The Bible contains the Lord’s exact thinking. It is your “owner’s manual”
for life. The good news is the Lord Jesus Christ did something about your sin
problem. He has a plan for your salvation because He doesn’t want anyone to go to the Lake of Fire…Second Peter, Chapter 3, Verse 9 says…
SECOND PETER 3:9
The Lord is not slow about His promise of salvation, as some accuse Him of... instead, He is patient toward unbelievers…not wishing for any to perish (in the Lake of Fire) but for all to come to repentance (a voluntary change of mind about having a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ).
By your own choice, you can be SPIRITUALLY ALIVE, making you special in God’s sight…Psalm 116, Verse 15 says…
PSALM 116:15
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His godly ones (His saints… His spiritually alive believers in Christ).
The fact that GOD WANTS YOU and has made a way for you to be SPIRITUALLY ALIVE is a great thing to know, especially as you get older, because everyone dies. What’s going to happen to you when you close your eyes in this life? Will you go to heaven or will you go to hell?
It’s your choice. How can you get to heaven? RIGHT WHERE YOU SIT, RIGHT NOW, RIGHT THIS MOMENT you can tell God the Father that you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and that is the moment of eternal life for you. Acts, Chapter 16, Verse 31…
ACTS 16:31
“Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved by God, you and everyone in your household who also believes.”
The ONE WAY…the ONLY WAY to get to heaven is through believing in the Lord Jesus Christ…John, Chapter 14, Verse 6…
JOHN 14:6
Jesus said to the doubting apostle, Thomas, “I am the way (to salvation) … and I am the truth (through the gospel message in the Word of God) … and I am the resurrection life…and no one comes to God the Father (in heaven) but through believing in Me.”
Who is this God who saves you? The apostle Paul describes the Lord Jesus Christ
in First Corinthians, Chapter 15, Verses 3 and 4…
FIRST CORINTHIANS 15:3
For I (Paul) delivered to all of you as of primary importance the gospel message I also received from God…that it was Jesus Christ who died for our sins according to the Old Testament Scriptures…
FIRST CORINTHIANS 15:4
…and that He was buried…and that He was raised from the dead on the third day…according to the Old Testament Scriptures…
Believing in Jesus Christ is acknowledging that you can’t do a thing to get to
heaven on your own. You confirm that being “a good person” does not get you to heaven. It’s wiser to let God save you because once God does something, He never changes His mind! In John, Chapter 10, Verses 28 and 29, the Lord says…
JOHN 10:28
“…I (the Lord Jesus Christ) give eternal life to believers in Christ, and they will never perish…and no one will snatch them out of My hand.”
JOHN 10:29
“And My Father, who has given believers in Christ to me, is greater than all…and no one can snatch believers in Christ out of my Father’s hand either.”
You can’t lose your salvation. If ANYONE says you can lose your salvation, they are lying to you.
God has an enemy, Satan, the ruler of this world. He creates counterfeit lifestyles to blind your mind. His strategy against the human race is RELIGION, and the religions of the world mislead you into thinking you're saved when you may not be. Satan wants you to believe you can work your way to heaven, earning your own salvation. He wants you to remain spiritually dead.
What happens if you reject a relationship with Christ? In Matthew, Chapter 25, Verse 30, the Lord shares the consequences…
MATTHEW 25:30
“Throw out the worthless slave into the outer darkness (the Lake of Fire)…and in
that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
So, heed the warning and accept the Lord’s invitation in John, Chapter 3, Verse 36…
JOHN 3:36
“He who believes in the Son of God has the resurrection life right at that moment…but he who does not obey the command to believe in the Son will not see the resurrection life…instead the wrath of God (the Lake of Fire) abides on him.”
You can join a host of your believer friends in heaven when you close your eyes in this life! Reject SPIRITUAL DEATH. Choose SPIRITUAL LIFE right now! Just tell the Lord you BELIEVE in His ability to save you and SPIRITUAL LIFE is yours for all eternity.

CLOSING SONG INTRODUCTION
Let’s close with music! In Matthew, Chapter 3, Verse 2 John the Baptist says…
MATTHEW 3:2
“Repent…for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
John the Baptist’s water baptism was a call to repentance, which is a change of mind about having a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. His plea is one we all hear multiple times in our lifetimes and we have a choice of responses. Are you for or against a relationship with Christ?
Here’s Advent Music to sing ON JORDAN’S BANKS THE BAPTIST’S CRY. Let’s enjoy it.

Almighty God and Father…
…thank you for reminding us how important it is to share our faith with others through effective witness and testimony…help us to follow John the Baptist’s example, always being ready to make a defense and to give an account for the hope that is in us…the absolute confidence of a secure future because of our relationship with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ…
…we ask this through the power of God the Holy Spirit…in Christ’s name...Amen.
