Romans Chapter 1 - The Righteousness Revealed From God is Our Only Hope
OFFERING VERSE
…and He Himself (the Lord Jesus Christ) bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. Remember to give with the motivation suggested in Scripture
Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful (grace oriented) giver.
TODAY’S STUDY
Romans Chapter 1-The Righteousness Revealed From God is Our Only Hope
…and He Himself (the Lord Jesus Christ) bore our sins in His (own) body on the Cross, so that we might die to (the sovereignty of the) sin (nature) and (so that we might) live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.
For we do not have a high priest (in the Lord Jesus Christ) who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One (a high priest) who has been tempted in all things (just) as we are (tempted in all things), yet (He) without sin.
“Who will not fear, O Lord (Jesus Christ), and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy; For ALL THE NATIONS WILL COME AND WORSHIP BEFORE YOU, FOR YOUR RIGHTEOUS ACTS HAVE BEEN REVEALED.”

FOR the gospel (of God) is the power of God the Father for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first (chronologically), and also to the Greek.

FOR in the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ the righteousness of God the Father is revealed, from faith in the Lord for salvation to faith in the Lord for all things; as it is written, “BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man (any believer in Christ) SHALL LIVE BY FAITH (by placing his confidence in God).”
For all of us have become like one who is unclean (a woman who is menstruating), and all our (self)-righteous deeds are like a filthy garment (a used tampon…menstrual rags)…

FOR the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and (against all) unrighteousness of men (unbelievers) who suppress the truth (of the gospel) in unrighteousness.
If (3) we (unbelievers) confess (agree with God completely concerning) our sins (and our sinfulness from physical birth…maybe you will and maybe you won’t…you have a choice), He (God the Father) is faithful (he always does the same thing) and righteous (free from sin Himself thus completely qualified) to forgive us (unbelievers of) our sins and (He is free) to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (by imputing His own righteousness to us).

FOR the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and (against all) unrighteousness of men (unbelievers) who suppress the truth (of the gospel) in unrighteousness.
“Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “You (Satan) had the seal of perfection, (you were) full of wisdom and (you were) perfect in beauty.”’
“You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering: the ruby, the topaz and the diamond; the beryl, the onyx and the jasper; the lapis lazuli, the turquoise and the emerald; and the gold, the workmanship of your settings and sockets, was in you. On the day that you were created they were prepared.”
“You were the anointed cherub who covers (the bodyguard angel), and I (the Lord Jesus Christ) placed you there (in that position). You were on the holy mountain of God (in the third heaven); You walked in the midst of the stones of fire (the throne room of heaven).”
“You (Satan) were blameless in your ways from the day you were created UNTIL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS WAS FOUND IN YOU.”
“By the abundance of your trade (the trafficking of slander) you were internally filled with violence, and you sinned; therefore I (the Lord Jesus Christ) have cast you as profane from the mountain of God. And I have destroyed you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.”
“Your heart was lifted up (in arrogance) because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor. I (the Lord Jesus Christ) cast you to the ground; I put you before kings, that they may see you.”
“By the multitude of your iniquities, in the unrighteousness of your trade (the trafficking of slander) you profaned your sanctuaries. Therefore I (the Lord Jesus Christ) have brought fire from the midst of you; it has consumed you, and I have turned you to ashes on the earth in the eyes of all who see you.”
“All who know you among the peoples are appalled at you; You have become terrified And you will cease to be forever.”

Then he (Abraham) believed in the Lord (Jesus Christ in His pre-incarnate state in the past); and He (the Lord Jesus Christ) reckoned it to him (Abraham, in the past) as righteousness.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, //gentleness, self-control…
All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.
More than that, I (Paul) count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ…
…and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that (righteousness) which is (a gift) through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith…
…that I may know Him and (that I may know) the power of His resurrection and (that I may know) the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death…
…in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

Little children (believers in Christ), make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He (the Lord Jesus Christ) is righteous…
…the one who practices sin (unbelievers) is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning.
But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets…
…even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction…
…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…
…being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus…
…whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed…
…for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
Where then is boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith.
For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law.
“For I know the plans that I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.”
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time,//casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy,//to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
